I’ve had this curse for a long time. stopped buying player jerseys. really jerseys in general. one time we were at some sabres alumni charity game and they had a signed Ryan O’Reilly jersey as a raffle item. guess who got traded and told the media he lost his love for the game within 6 months 🙂
The only jersey I ever got was Zemgus Girgensons. Suck it nerd!
I a Edmunds and Singletary jersey, bought a Tre White Jersey the week he blew out his ACL.
“Surely the Sabres would NEVER trade their captain,” I thought as I pulled the trigger on a Pominville jersey. Two weeks later😡😮🥲
We’ve have some underperforming role players, but for the first time in years there’s not a single player I want gone. It’s a nice feeling.

When I did jerseys, I only ever got retired players, or blanks. With retired guys, you know the legacy can’t be traded or change much (at least the on ice part). I find that as I get older I prefer repping with hoodies and shirts and hats though. Haven’t worn any of my jerseys in years.
That’s why I only buy throwbacks lol. Last time I bought a jersey..stu Barnes.. he got traded a year later.
