Definitely proud of the boys, laf is coming into his form finally, Kakko is establishing as a defensive 2 way forward. Trouba still tries to murder someone on a daily basis. Can’t get enough!

I’m super pumped. They’ve only played two games against teams that matter. And they did win them both. But in one of them, they lost their number 1 defenseman player. The number 1 goalie. And their number 2 center.
Four of the next five games are against really tough teams. I want to see how they get through this before I go over the top with excitement.
But what I am super excited about, is this star extrapolate talk to a 135 point season. Obviously, that’s not going to happen, but having this many points at the beginning of the season, will make that midseason losing streak/doldrums days of February and March hurt a lot less.

There’s a LOT to be happy about this season. Laffy coming into his own, Panarin being on a record setting heater, Kakko (while not on the score sheet enough) still being a defensive 2 way stalwart, the coaching taking real control of the situation and guiding the team, the faceoff stats being incredible, and **most** of all the team not bending the knee when things go wrong but fighting back and clawing back in games that they definitely would have lost last year.
All while dealing with a number of the superstar players being sidelined for various reasons. Again, speaking to the grit and tenacity of the team that will not fold.
Being on the top of the division, and only being 2 points behind Vegas because they played one more game than we did, is just the icing on top (or rather, the fruits of all the above labors).
Everyday.
Get through thanksgiving with this lead or more and I’ll be on the moon. This team is so fun.
A little chunk of that is without fox, Igor, Chytil; imagine this team at full health, especially once zibanejad gets in mid-season form
It’s still early. We’ve gotten some breaks and overcome challenges but it is a looooooong season. Then comes the playoffs which is the only thing that matters.
It’s still early, but banking points is never a bad thing.
Hoping we keep it up going into the next few games. We have a pretty difficult stretch ahead, if we come out on top we’ll really see if we’re fully ready.

it’s obviously great, but I think people read a little too much into last year’s playoff flop
this team is 100% good enough to fight for top playoff positions even if they are flawed
