The big question is who do we give up? What if Calgary doesn’t want Brendan Smith? We have $1 million in cap space at the moment, and Smith only accounts for $1.1 million of that. Zadorov is worth $3.75 million, meaning we need to give up another roster player to fit under the cap, never mind also likely needing to send draft picks to Calgary.
Am I understanding this correctly? From what it looks like, having to give up Smith, a roster player, and draft picks for a pending UFA, this sets off alarm bells. That is, unless we can also send someone like Tierney AND Noesek the other way, and that’s just to clear the cap space. Are you willing to potentially send Lazar or Haula away?
