honestly…. I think our best players in the past 50 years have been Swedes.
Sittler and MacDonald were amazing but I give the edge to Salming in the 1970s and early 80s.

And I do think Matthews is a better player than Nylander….. but if I’m going to pick the guy who showed up EVERYTIME for the Playoffs and has been the MOST consistent over the past 2 seasons in the regular season…. it’s hands down Nylander.
on the playoff and consistency metrics…. Nylander leaves Marner in the dust and of course every other player like Tavares.
So Nylander is the man and just like Borje and Matts…. he delivers something exceptional to the Leafs and the NHL.
Go Swedes Go! and thanks for giving Leaf fans your best!
