NC State is the school the team shares the arena (and city and color scheme) with yet UNC chose to use our design? I don’t like it

As a UNC alum and Canes fan, I know this design is gonna ruffle some feathers around here lol. I certainly wouldn’t have made this choice.
I do get the connections between the pack and the canes, but ultimately the Canes aren’t owned by NCSU, and they are still the local team for UNC.

This is good it’s one thing to share camaraderie with a particular college (NC State) and another to fall into a trap of “you can only have a positive relationship with that particular college”.
The Canes are the pro team of North Carolina, they aren’t owned by NC State

I love the Canes’ connection with the Wolfpack but UNC hockey does deserve at least a piece of the limelight. Only from time to time though. Definitely a little jealous that UNC got a proper Canes collab before the Icepack lol
Do UNC and NCSU have legit hockey teams or are these club sports?
As someone who’s neither a UNC or State fan, I’m just here for the discussion.
Fantastic to see the sport continue to grow. I don’t have strong allegiances to either university but I do to hockey in general and to the Canes specifically. If you had told me in 1997 that two local college teams would have club hockey teams skating in Raleigh and representing the Canes on their jerseys I would have found that possibility far fetched. Yet, here we are.
The vision is bigger than one university.

Those are cool but they don’t feel Carolina to me. I get the collab thing but I’d personally rather have argyle like we have on the basketball jerseys
