could use all around defenseman on second pair?
They need a real coach. They need to hit the weights more and get buff like Greenway. They need to get mean, they need to stop showing respect to established "elite" teams. They need to go out there and take it. The last time the Sabres were going out and showing some real balls was during the Drury/Briere captaincy. They need THAT vibe again. Everyone knows the only reason Carolina beat them back then was because of the injuries. But I digress. This team has the talent. I see Middlestadt getting vicious, and Skinner, and Dahlin. Also Krebs and Cozens. They all need to be on that page every single game. Get MEAN boys! Get toxic. They will succeed.
I think it is time to admit that Granato is not the long term answer. He did his job to raise up the young guys but it is time to move to a next level coach. Call up Joel Quenville

Have a feeling Granato is feeling pressure from above him. Since coming here he never once would pull a goalie. He finally did it….but he waited too long. Should have pulled him after the first period seeing Levi is not playing well. Reset the group and give them a morale boost by replacing their goalie.
This is a massive loss for a team we all thought was better than the way they’ve played this year. It’ll be all we can do to maintain a chance for the playoffs until he returns. Sad. So much hope for this season..
22% fewer goals for than last season at this time. 8% fewer goals against. It's not enough and after 16 games played the goal differential is worse this year than last.
Levi is one of the worst goalies I've seen in a long time. Has fast feet but after that he's terrible. I've never seen a worse goalie at handling the puck. Doesn't track the puck well either. His rebound control is unbearable. That kid needs minimum of several months in the minors. Same with Benson. No reason to start so many young players first year contracts. Play the "ready" but not talented enough guys like Biro, Krebs & Rousek. Keep Kulich down all year. We never were a good team. Played over 50% back up goalies last year was why we got to .500. Now we are seeing top goalies & not back ups. 80-100 games in the AHL is a good thing. Especially since I think Seth is a much better coach.
Lets see how this team would roll with everyone healthy all at once . They are playing 500 hockey right now. Now without Thompson no Quinn No Tuch. That was 2/3 of the first line out vs the Bruins. I say Bring up Kulich win the Kane Sweepstakes. Thats why i said Joe before the year started the sabres needed a Hellybuck or Gibson to pair with Levi

Replace Olofsson, Okposo, Girgensens, and Krebs with goons and agitators. Replace Granato with a coach with a history of winning playoff hockey. That's how we fix it.
yes, its a roster of guys, no cohesive unit. way too many roster spots in the bottom 9 given to players who arent helping them win games. you need depth, and what did kevyn adams do this summer, resigned okposo and girgensons.. why? they need some new role players in that locker room. new faces. there is no jump.
Levi in some ways had been compared to Fleury in his aggression and lateral movement. Fleury also has the same issues in his first couple seasons. If they can address Levi’s over activity, like the goalie coach did with Fleury, I can see him develop into the same level of goalie. Either watch the adjustments Fleury made with Levi, or even bring in that goalie coach to work with him directly, Levi needs to be shown how to be more deliberate and focused in his movements.

Short answer is yes. Clifton is just bad. Defense is better than last year, but offense is just bad. Too many turnovers. No hustle past blue line. Shoot the puck get the rebounds. SCREW the Instagram shots. Shoot the puck create rebounds, and get in front of the net

It's our DEFENSE that sucks our goalies will never develop the right way until we play better defense and we are very easy to play against which doesn't help

Adam’s knew they were not playoff team so why trade for a veteran goalie. Our young players will develop better with NHL experience
What trades should GMKA be targeting? I've been wanting another fast power forward on this team that can still score. I've always wanted Tom Wilson, and have always liked Necas, but a sneaky trade I'd like would be for Farabee (Syracuse guy).
Looks like Bills negativity has bled to Sabres fans.. I think we thought losing Quinn wouldn't matter. Its totally changed the team. UPL looks solid. Hopefully make the playoffs but we are still the youngest team in the league. Might be a time to off some assets for better fits.
They were a fringe playoff team last year, & they have not shown improvement. They improved in some areas, but regressed in even more areas. They really dropped the ball not doing anything with that bottom six. Really bad decision, especially after losing Quinn. And their defense additions weren’t exactly upgrades, and they needed upgrades.
Im a bit worried about mitts getting top line minutes, padding his stats and the sabres resigning him for way too much. don't think he's a top tier player in this league
Buffalo has a nobody coach who's never won anything and a nobody captain who's never won anything and rookie goalies who haven't proved themselves but somehow they're painted to be successful
