Important detail is that it sounds like the shutdown is after the 2024 MLB season. Also sounds like Bally/Sinclair is still negotiating with the NHL about how the rest of this season’s broadcasts will play out. That said if Bally shuts down today it’s not soon enough; though I do feel for local people employed by them that will likely be losing their jobs

  2. These fuckers are probably the reason we don’t have Panger.

May the corpse of Bally rot in the hottest layer of hell.

So does this mean we don’t watch games on Bally for the rest of the season? If so where are we supposed to watch them?

I’m seriously begging the NHL to please do a deal with Amazon, HBO, hell NETFLIX could get into the sports live streaming. I would pay like $35 a month if there was 1 place where everyone could go to see every game whether it was in market or not.

  5. CW is trying to become more sports oriented…..wouldn’t hate a reunion with Channel 11

Just quoting the « Is now going to shut down » part makes this sound imminent, but that isn’t the reality.

This attorney is saying that it looks like the outcome of the bankruptcy proceedings will be that the business shuts down rather than simply being restructured. Their initial goal in this process was to negotiate new contracts with all these teams to pay less money to continue broadcasting the games. They were also potentially looking to keep their profitable markets while leaving the ones that were bleeding money. That does not look like it will be happening, which means that their business model is not profitable and they will instead eventually shut down completely.

He is not saying that they are shutting down right now. He is saying that the reality now is that the company will be actually shutting down in the future rather than restructuring, getting out of some debt and continuing to exist.

They have a deal with the NBA to broadcast the rest of this season and are reportedly working on a similar deal with the NHL. They may or may not get a deal done to broadcast the 2024 MLB season. Nothing about this quote means that Blues games will suddenly be unavailable on TV.
