This is devastating news
Fuck dude…
So this is like really bad for everyone involved
Drury is going to have a lot of work waiting for him in the future if our 2/3C is unable to continue playing hockey for health reasons. It’s getting to a point where we may have to start searching for permanent replacement options
When that hit happened, at first I was impressed because it was the type of hit that, in previous years, would have put him out; but he ‘took’ it and kept skating well. However, when he didn’t come back out, well…..
At this point it has to be a concern, not just for his future as a player, but a general quality of life issue as well. Damn shame, as it’s really seemed like he was finally coming into his own here.
Chytil’s health is obviously the main concern here but from a Rangers perspective, Drury should absolutely be preparing to add a Yanni Gourde type 3C at the deadline. We aren’t winning anything with Nick Bonino as our 3C.
That Trocheck contract is looking way better right now than it did before the year.
Put him on LTIR Let him take off till after the Allstar break and recover concussions are serious after one let alone multiple at 24 years old
This really sucks. But I 100% agree with the decision here. I’ve seen friends lose quality of life, struggle in school, and even have to just drop out and re-evaluate what they can do in life from multiple concussions. It’s no joke, and Chytil needs to take care of himself.
Take it easy fil :'(
Fuck, I was afraid of this…
If he’s indeed out long-term, center obviously becomes our most pressing need. Unfortunately, I’m not sure we have many options looking at who might be available. 2024 UFA Lindholm would be awesome, but Calgary will ask for a premium if we try to acquire him this early in the season. Presumably the Flames aren’t in any rush and would rather wait a bit longer so more suitors can accrue cap space. Boston will definitely be interested.
[Any other names catch your eye](https://www.spotrac.com/nhl/free-agents/2024/center/ufa/)? Monahan maybe? Wennberg? Same problem as above though; no one is going to sell this early without jacking up the price…
Please be okay Chytil.
I know, let’s draft even more skinny russians then force them into the NHL too quickly!
damn this is some seriously shit news
This is awful .
First thing– we love fil, get we soon, and make the right decision for the rest of your life so you can live a meaningful life outside of hockey.
Second thing is we may have to explore options at 3C now 🙁
Don’t even think about before April.
