Blues SOG finally caught up to Sharks

Yes, they of course have not played their best game, in fact maybe their worst. But it’s pretty clear it’s also a game where they just can’t catch a break.
Is it really just bad luck or is there something fundamentally wrong with this team? Can someone weigh in

Do not let the luck aspect distract you. The first period was so immensely bad that they don’t deserve sympathy.
Yeah the puck has bounced a bunch and it’s the way it be sometimes, but they didn’t show up to play until the last 3 minutes of the first and then quickly forgot for the next 4 minutes what they did previously.
This is what I expected the Blues to be, the last two games was what I wish the Blues to be. I guess we’ll middle out to « fingers crossed for a wild card spot » at the end of the season.
Are we absolutely sure that’s really Kahkonen? Did they sneak Marty Brodeur in there or something?

Gotta be honest with you guys… It’s times like this where it’s hardest for me to watch this team.
It’s not just because we’re down 5 nothing against a historically terrible team. It’s because we’re in that phase where we’re not bad enough to embrace it and draft high but we’re not good enough to accomplish anything in the post season.
I was optimistic that taking on projects like Kapanen and Vrana might let us retool on the fly. And to be fair I think they’ve been pretty serviceable but… Our defense just doesn’t have it. You can blame that on the system, players or both but end of the day we’re in a place where we have to out score our problems and we don’t really have that kind of talent in our forward group.
It just sucks being mid.

One way to look at it is that they now have way more shots than the Sharks at 45, which last year we were hitting like 20.
