We haven’t beaten the Laffs in years. This team flat out sucks
So thats not considered a trip?
Funny that this was supposed to be a home game.
Half this team needs to be sent down to Iowa.
2 points on this trip. Better than nothing. Could have been worse.
Rip in pieces. I vote we tank.
Kappy is regressing in ways that make me concerned about that contract. There’s no excuse to keep playing him if it’s injury. Evason and Co need to fucking do something about this
If you think of the 2 points we got as 1 win and 1 loss instead of 2 losses, it’s not so bad..
Pedestrian 1v1 by Johansson.
I’m so fucking tired of seeing the Wild lose 😮💨
Really wanted that one. Fuck.
Kaprizov no show AGAIN… god damn
Swede Mafia in shambles. How frustrating must it be to see your best players have the yips, and throw away the chance to win a game in your home country.
Deano should be sweating.
Eh essentially the same result as winning one game, losing one. And the team is looking defensively way better than the nightmare of the last month. I can’t be that mad.
This Kaprisov contract is starting to look very bleak
No one wants to hear this but this team is going to be bad for the next 2-4 years. Concerning that kaprizov has fallen off so much. If he’s injured they should be resting him
Has Dean EVER taken accountability for the team playing bad, or does he repeat empty platitudes like “playing 60 minutes” and “play cleaner”?
I hate to say it, but I don’t see this trip as a miserable fail. Our losses could have been greater
Well the team showed some steps forward so there’s that. Two points for the Global series going 0-0-2 actually improves our win% from 0.400 to 0.438. As for the game itself two thing sting: that the Leafs scored a goal off a non existent power play and the two missed chances by Ek and Brodin? (not sure who was the second one with the puck on the 2-on-1 that lead to the Leafs OTG). But overall a decent performance despite a .840sv% (Woll had a respectable .917), I liked the discipline (a stupid penalty, a nonexistent one and nothing else), I didn’t like the PK, I didn’t like the PP. There’s a lot to improve but maybe a step in the right direction. Let’s just hope this game is a baseline for our performance and not the ceiling.
u/NorthernPuck deleting all of his messages right now.
We are all Wild fans, we love them. But let’s talk real talk. The Wild power play is complete shit. It has been shit for 3+ years. Why?¹?
Improvement right?
Why is Boldy/Gaudreau the second OT line? Boldy hasn’t really had a good game this season and Gaudreau didn’t do anything today.
Joel EE being so damn positive in the post game interview makes me happy anyway…
Watched the game on and off from « work. »
The Wild looked like they outplayed the Leafs for most of the game, but they didn’t win. Somehow, when it went to overtime, you just knew a Swedish Leaf player would win it. Hey, that’s a Minnesota thing letting some other bum be a hero.
What’s with the Leafers there? Is it like Manchester United, where people follow them because of the name?
It’s our special teams that is losing us games. Every fucking game is lost because of limp special teams outings. Our PP is fucking dogshit and our PK is even worse. This special teams coach is fucking brutal. It’s just predictable nonsense that’s so easily countered… How have they not changed anything? The opposing team crowds the net with 4 people and wait for the Wild to shoot into traffic and recover the rebound OR let the Wild kill their own PP by passing and looking for an open shooting lane. Shoot the fucking puck, recover the rebound and score in the ensuing chaos, you have to break down their defense to open the lanes.
How can this fucking guy not just look at our PK and see how they’re doing it? Fire this fucking thick-skulled butt.
On top of that Johansson completely fucks up 2-3 prime chances every game. He’s good at zone entries and fucking useless in literally every other scenario, weak shot, slow hands, takes too long with the puck. He’s the best worst player I’ve ever seen. He’s not even bad it’s like he’s just thinking for an extra 3 seconds every time he touches the puck.
Welcome surprise to see the star player Merrill score a goal. Love to see Middleton score a goal and place him only two goals behind the teams super star for the season. That was nice to see Zuccarello get a goal in front of his mom.
Disappointment, but moral vicory… I saw a huge improvement in defensive coverage and very few breakaways/odd man rushes allowed in these games, which is a massive improvement from the games prior.
Some of you guys are the most miserable fucks my God lol why watch if you’re just going to come in here and complain and then say « I’m done with this team! Bye. »
And then you’re right back here the next game.
The Twitter meltdown happening right now is nuts compared to the reasonable reactions in here.
Yes, they could’ve won both games, but the Leafs are lucky we didn’t win in regulation. I’m actually pretty stoked they didn’t give up and showed some fucking fight finally.
It’s a long season. My biggest concern is still our forwards forgetting how to score goals, but those will come. They’re only 4 points out of a playoff spot 1/4 of the way through the season after playing the most atrocious hockey ever in Oct. I’m actually slightly more hopeful than I was 2 days ago.
