Okposo on the PP at the end of the game??? WTF! Granola is an idiot.
I was at this game tonight. I thought the boys played pretty well tonight and UPL looked solid. The power play was a little weak but overall they played well against a solid Carolina team
dahlin scored a goal, but he isnt dominating like a 11 million guy.. sloppy, slow, nonchalant..
im not upset. They took it to one of the better teams tonight. when they got punched. Sabres punched back, loved the grit they showed. well deserved point
I hate that they didn’t get a win, but I love that they got a point. Also I can’t watch Okposo anymore, he’s so slow.
I've always believed… if you give 3 pts for OT wins.. regulation wins should get the winner 3 pts.. So you win in regulation.. 3pts.. OT you get 2 while the other team gets 1 for the regulation tie… ..I know the shootout is not well liked.. but at the same time.. the NHL knows it's entertainment and uses it ONLY during the regular season when it means a little.. where during the playoffs.. you play until you have a winner… when it really matters most.. not funny business.
I feel like this is one of the best games we have played all year. Upl was good. If greenway didnt tip that puck in we would have won. Also our stars got points. Tuch, thompson, dalhin, middlestat. Thats what i like to see
Nice game against a very good opponent. Upie look good. The faceoff situation continues to hurt them as far controlling the game. And it has. For years. Where's Curtis Lazar when you need him? (LOL!)
Not gonna win a lot of games with a PP like tonight's …. Jeez it was painful watching them try to enter over blue line the same way over and over and over…. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing expecting different results.
Sabes played hard, needed to shoot more tho. And man PP needs to be fixed. Can't stand watching Power look like he's on a public skate with the puck behind his own net with 30 seconds left on PP, where's the urgency?!
I 100% agree. Bring back ties. Loser point is an incentive for teams to slack and not go for the W! If you get 0 points for ot loss, sabres will actually get hustle in their game
I fully agree with the 3v3 in OT having to go. I’d tolerate 4v4, but it really should be 5v5.
What I don’t agree with is getting rid of 2 points for the win in OT. And it goes hand in hand with why I’m ok with a point for the loss.
I remember the era where there was no point for the OT loss and teams went out there and would just dump the puck out, all in an effort to try to not LOSE the point with the tie, instead of trying to WIN the extra point.
So I say keep the points the same, lose the 3v3, and for the love of my sanity, get rid of the stinking Shootout! It has ZERO right to decide the outcome of a TEAM game!
I’ll take the point. I want the win, but I’ll take the point. As of right now the Sabres are the definition of a 500 team. I hope it changes for the better but stats don’t lie. Goaltending looked good, offense looked decent (not good at times due to passing), and 20 blocked shots is a great stat to see. I’m not sold on the playoffs but we need a good November very badly, so again I’ll take the point and call it a night.
We played hard tonight and earned the point. Canes are a perennial playoff team and we held our ground.
Early in the season these points matter.
To limit Carolina for less than 30 shots in a game is a small win itself, I'll take it anyday 🎉 The boys are playing better lately. It's a fact that IF they keep on playing like this with some minor tweaks, they will be right there when those playoffs spots are being handed.

Sabre's had their chances tonight. The team is rounding into shape. UPL's been good enough. And, were only 3 points out of 2nd place in the division! Plus, the Sabre's are so overdue for win streak, it's not funny! Go Sabre's!
I would be for a system where you get 3 pts for a regulation win, 2 for an OT/SO win and 1 for an OT/SO loss. You lost me when you say that you want to go back to the old system of leaving games in a tie. 3 on 3 and shootouts are part of the game, just like 4 on 4, penalty shots, power play and penalty kills are part of hockey strategy. Like you said, “it’s for entertainment purposes”. Exactly. It’s entertaining to watch skills players do what they do. Well played game by both teams tonight.
I'm on your side Wayne, when it comes to OT. let the game end in a tie and call it quits. Leave the 3/3 for the all- star game.
I agree we should definitely get a point, the boys played well, but Sorry it does feel like a Loss to me. The other team skated off the ice celebrating and we didn't. I just can't be overly excited about losing, OT or not. But that's just me, everyone doesn't have to feel that way. Maybe it's because it's been over a decade of excuses and moral victories, that it's harder to take the win 1 lose 1 approach, IDK. On to the Next…

An 8 minute OT at 5 on 5 would be way better. And eliminate the shootout. Both teams get a point for getting to OT, winner gets the extra point or both teams get a point for the TIE
During overtime not changing players when controlling the puck, the blame is all on the coaching staff
Our PP is way to slow and predictable. Like we do absolutely nothing but drop it back and glide it into the zone. Nobody is moving thejr feet. Like we had such a glorious opportunity to take it in regulation and I kept thinking, "WTF IS THIS GET SOME SCORING CHANCES LIKE WHAT THE LITERAL F**!!!!" Then the second thing is I wish UPL covered the puck in OT. Somebody needs to yell hold it LU or something to force him to hold onto it. Our guys were exhausted and i get he was trying to set up an odd man rush, but its a bad read. It ended up costing them the game. Overall it was a good effort but my gosh somebody change our PP nobody moves their feet or gets open. Its literally get tage the puck and thats it. If our friken PP would stop coasting and standing around we can easliy be top ten in the league with the weapons we have and probably would have won tonight and a few other games as well. When we go on the PP I dont even say oh here we go! I just usually think meh another 2 minutes of wasted opportunities for Buffalo. Can somebody please wake up Donny meatballs to this s** because I am sick of it! Oh also how do you not start tage and tuch with dahlin in OT?! I really like middlestat but come on…. Or start tage and cozins for them two in OT just get it done! Sabres lets get a friken 4 game win streak going here please to get ahead in our division!

Buffalo Gets a PP at the end of the game and the coach thinks he’s coaching little league baseball and puts out 4th liners. Then in overtime Dahlin and Thompson never went on the ice. Start the OT with Tage, Dahlin Tuch to give you the three best puck possession guys, who have chemistry together. Ollofsson on a PP instead of Peterka made me angry.
Special teams doomed them.
Hard fought game.. They really need to do something different on the Power Play though… There is way too much talent on the roster to look this out of sorts on the PP. I truly believe that's the reason we are losing these close games, and when that improves we will start winning close games more often than not.
Power play is abysmal can’t even get it in the zone to set up.
O.t. is showing off offensive talent and goaltending. The defense and defensive forwards are left out. How about each team gets one 2 min power play. If no one scores or both score, it's 1 point each. I dint know, but im not so big on the ot as it stands.
Might have been a regulation win if Greenway had not deflected a shot past UPL.

The Boys played great tonight. Carolina is a very solid team, but Buffalo showed they could stand toe to toe with them.
If the shootout is so great, why is it not used during the playoffs? Same goes for the 3-on-3 overtime… so good that it's not used in the most important games of the year. Was a great game. Was even better when I found out Philly lost.

I'm happy to see the effort, there going to lose games, I just hate those games where they don't show up at all. They deserved something after the effort. With regards to the OT debate as a Brit whose sports habitually end in draws just finish the game after 60 minutes. Leave OT to the playoffs and never ever under any circumstances accept shootouts as a legit way to end a match. It stains football with it's childish attempt to generate false excitement and it will stain hockey too. 🤔

I don’t blame granato for them not changing in OT I blame Tuch for exiting the zone and coming back in and rifling a shot in between two defenders knowing it would be unlikely he would get that puck back instead of regrouping and changing. Thompson was chomping at the bit to get on that ice. Also Dahlin should have started the OT even if he was tired
Unfortunately victor is just slotted wrong. Similar to krueger/skinner. Im not defending his play but he is a specialty teams player. He should only be used for one timers. Im saying on another team i think he would be slotted appropriately. If he were on the oilers he would be fed passes all game. Our identity does not fit victors strengths. I say this as i feel bad for oloffson. He has come a long way from a 7th rounder. Id like him to get a chance to succeed.
UPL should have covered the puck just before the goal and he knew it. Swearing up and down the hallway on the way out. Seemed super mad at himself.
I don't care for the 3 on 3 format, I would prefer a 5 on 5 OT with ties…that being said, there is no way in hell im leaving tage and Dahlin on the bench to start the OT, Middlestadt looks slow 5 on 5, 3 on 3 his lack of speed is exposed
