  1. As an Oilers fan I don't get it. What happened from 2021-22, and 2022-23, to now in 2023-24? It's not like we lost a ton of players over the summer. I just don't get it! At this point I am worried that Leon or Connor may leave, if we just made it to the playoffs this year (even without winning this year I would be confident to say that they'd stay. But at this point they could leave and I wouldn't blame them, but I would be sad beyond belief. I honestly wouldn't blame them. Both of them are irreplaceable, no matter what we might get back nothing would be close to those two in terms of giving us a true shot at a cup. Bedard would be the closest thing, but even still I'd take Conner and Leon over Bedard and anyone else. They may ask to leave and I hope we get something but at this point I just feel defeated, after seeing how close we were the past two years this feels so painful. Nothing to be excited about in the present nor the future when the team plays like this. Losing Mikio was a massive mistake.

  2. honestly is their any merit to stop training in between games like maybe they just over analyze it all. Just dont play Hockey at all between the games, the players know what the fuck to do they know how to play hockey. I can see it on the team its weighing them down. they dont try hard enough and when a goal goes in its a look of oh we are watching this one tonight after the game…….. Sad atmostphere to be in. had it through my career and the way i got out of it was to STOP PLAYING. i couldnt score for 6 moths….. how did i change it i tried to train harder tried to get fitter etc etc etc didnt help…… I allready knew how to score, allready knew how to win just had to stop trying too hard……. Its a game in the end and you need to have fun at it. When your losing dont double the pressure to "we have to win next match so ima train wayyyyy harder" no calm the FUCK down and play some hockey, have some fun…..

  3. If tkachuk and jack eichel can be fine and tavares, so can mcdavid. Especially if he wins a cup with that new future team. The draft picks need to stay and waste precious years with who drafted them over anything, is a tired corporate narrative and im so glad playefs are realizing that.

  4. Check this bro. Your dude isnt a champion. he can skate and shoot and dangle but hes not a man. Get it?? NOT A CHAMPION!! He cant lead end of story.

  5. how does the gm still has his job? he did nothing to make the team not really so much on these two players

  6. McDav'o should def request a trade, they have no assets or cap to upgrade the team and they're stuck with too many bad contracts to do anything, the Oilers are just wasting his prime and it's sad to see 😢

  7. McDavid still has another 2 years left after this. Plenty of time left to get to a cup. A couple of changes in the off season by their new GM and the team can very well be fixed but I agree it’s tough not to wonder what will happen once his contract is up.

  8. i mean no goalies and no defense is going to do that to a team. no amount of offense is going to fix it. i love to see it.

  9. It's hard to think anyone is underachieving more than the Penguins, but, yeah, the Oilers are doing worse.

  10. Klem koston, & Yamamoto? Or tyson barrie? It seems ridiculous. Teams can't retain talent. Gary hates canada because sunshine, golf and ice hockey naturally go hand in hand.

  11. This is the closest we’ve ever gotten to a Mackinnon McDavid power line.. Hear me out, it’s not gonna happen but it’s a fun thought experiment. Makar for McDavid. Oilers clean up their D (on one line at least) and the Avs get to have a McDavid Mackinnon power line.

As an avs fan, I’d advise against this, but it’s a fun idea nonetheless. I’d love to see those two on the same line just dominating…

  12. What if there’s playing it big brain and tryna to get paid less to bring in better guys and get the 1# draft pick potentially lmao 😂
