I wouldn’t mind a new coach. I’m not saying Keefe needs to go, but I wouldn’t mind a fresh take on THE BEST LEAFS ROSTER EVER THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN FOR DECADES ONCE IT IS FINISHED.
He’s a good coach but maybe he’s not the one for us. I don’t really like the system he’s using. It takes us forever to exit the zone and under pressure we get in to major trouble. Without mobile speedy puck moving defenceman (and one’s that shoot right) that system doesn’t work and we’re seeing it right now this year. Almost all of our D are big, old or immobile.
We shouldn’t be where we are right now and we shouldn’t settle for, “oh well, you know, we’re in a playoff spot.” We should be fighting for the division but instead here we are

Either call the players out or don’t. Don’t say you’ve done your job when the results are poor.

The end is near for him. He’s lost the room. It’s not his fault. Coaches just eventually lose the room. He lasted a lot longer than most coaches.
The team is just too soft. I feel like this lineup needs an old school hard-nosed type like Torts or Sutter

in case MLSE is reading this and is looking for a consultant to come in and teach them how to count to five, my sister is getting her master’s in education. her rates are reasonable!
I guess we have to play this out through to the playoffs and hope we can tweak the roster a bit in March.
But the biggest shame in hindsight is we didn’t take advantage of the window when our core were on entry level contracts… because it’s just going to get harder and harder as more money gets locked up
