Unpopular opinion: write off the season. Go with what you have, and if they continue to suck, they suck. If they make a big trade now, it'll be a terrible trade, because desperation trades are always terrible. McDavid's obviously hurt. Let him heal. Use the off-season time to improve the goaltending and D without paying a ransom. This team is not one risky, high-interest move away from contending. They're bloody awful.
Relax buddy, they are giving us the opportunity for us to enjoy a game. Win, loose or draw it's great entertainment
We can't trade with anyone, not now, not with this management or we will get HOSED ! Do not trust these guys to address anything at this point.

Edmonton needs to be the kind of place where when a player has been around long enough that he needs a big money long term contract, it's time to trade him for younger and hungrier player(s). Case in point, avoid Nurse and Campbell type deals.
Jeff Jackson has singlehandedly destroyed this team. Almost the identical team that was close to winning the cup last year; in comes Jackson and a defensive system we don't have the personnel to execute (can't tell me that was Woodcroft's idea), then fires him (best win % in oilers history) and hires his inexperienced buddy who says "Yeah we can make this system work". Trading for a goalie won't help. Trading for a defenseman won't help. Firing Holland won't help. Only way to fix this is Katz fires Jackson NOW, Holland (assuming he can't beg Woody back) hires an experienced coach who goes back to Woody's systems from last year
Longtime Wings fan … Holland is a FRAUD. He was never the “mastermind” of any of the Wings’ Cups. He was a figurehead GM taking orders from Scotty Bowman and Jim Devellano. When they moved on Holland was left in charge and turned the Wings into a lottery team rather quickly. Edmonton should’ve never hired him. He makes bad trades, invests huge contracts into mediocre free agents, and made questionable draft picks … basically leaving the Wings in Cap hell and barren of any young talent. Edmonton needs to fire him now before he wastes the careers of your two superstar players.

Skinner has become predictable and needs to tweak his game. Dude can't make a save. His big frame was a huge reason for his success last season. Now that teams know about his game players are taking shots at certain areas n there going in. I would send him down to the ahl and if he continues to struggle ECHL lol

I found it amusing that people thought this team was going to win a cup. As if Skinner was suddenly going to be 10x better then he ever was. As if Broberg and Bouchard were magically going to suddenly become stalwart vet like D men with Orr like offence. As if Nurse would stop doing ridiculous things to leave the net totally uncovered with an opponent standing alone in front of it. As if they would man up and play 2 way D and stop taking idiotic penalty's. But I must admit, I didn't think they would be this bad. No way this team makes playoffs. I am a realist.
Nobody else find it coincidental, that they bring in Jeff Jackson, and this team implodes on itself?

YOU'RE MISSING IT DOLYNNY!!! Oiler fans can't seem to admit the 29/97 emperors have no clothes. Bottom Line – 29 and 97 aren't that valuable, when it comes to WINNING GAMES. Look at their "+/-" say, last year in 22-23, Draisatl was only a +7 (w/ 128 points) and McDavid was only +22 (w/153 pts for the year). Take away their Power Play goals and YIKES!!! Or am I missing something?

Seriously… looking at the huge changes in the lines for tomorrow’s game… it’s almost as if management is deliberately trying to blow this team up. Like they want to force Connor & Leon to ask for trades. I have to smash my head repeatedly in my car door to get into this managements headspace. This is becoming a hockey twilight zone episode.
Sad to say but I think their season is over unless a miracle comes to the cap strapped team If they don't find an answer. IMO They should have kept Woodcroft and dumped of our new CEO Jackson. I say If Oilers can't fix, we should prepare to let McD and Drai go to a winning team to give them a chance to win the cup.

Fire the whole management. When you have management that keeps hiring bad coaches and then firing them , you need to start questioning their judgement. They obviously don’t know what they are doing. Katz needs to put his big boy pants on and take control. From Jackson on down , Lowe, Mactavish, Holland scouting staff. Goaly coach. Nobody should be safe.
