  1. I don’t think Petey is hurt. If he was, I doubt he would’ve acknowledged and addressed it in the media this week.

Also based on his on-ice performance though, he’s not playing shy or slower like an injured player would. He’s making silly mistakes, bobbling pucks, just simply not being mindful of what he’s doing. Guy’s just not with it right now.

Are there any definitive signs to him actually being hurt? I’ve missed a few games

I don’t know what to say except if I’m the canucks I’m embarrassed af to lose to sanjose, they didn’t look good at all this game and they let sanjose look like the VGK on the ice, this is unacceptable. I also thought last nights game could of turned ugly if it wasn’t for Demko, this team needs to play a full 60 and they haven’t since the Dallas game where they won 2-0.

I gotta say this isn’t going to be a successful way of staying in the top 3 if you’re going to just stop playing for 10 minutes in a game, teams will bite your ass.

I will guarantee. Betting a Canucks tattoo on my ass cheek that the Nucks will never win a cup in our life time. Garbage franchise.

Imagine justifying a loss against the worst team in the league.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills

Petey was on the ice for all of our goals, not on the ice for any of our goals against. Could’ve been better offensively sure, but he still set up some chances and was defensively responsible

Everybody says he needs to shoot more but I saw him let it go at least 4 times tonight

Everybody knows he needs to be better, but shouldn’t this game be a good sign that he’s getting back to being himself?

  5. carry-on_replacement

As a consolation prize, the golden knights got shutout by the Coyotes

I felt Petey was back to 80% last season’s Petey in the last 10 minutes of the game. Like that hit he threw woke something in him

  6. drunkmunky88

Seemed like a crazy amount of blocked shots by San Jose tonight. Usually the Canucks are better at getting pucks to the net.

What to do with the top 6?

For sure #72 has to come out. Maybe we should try Kuzy with #6/#9, and Hoggy with #40/#65, since the latter is a forechecking dead spot.

I’d almost be inclined to put Garland in the top 6 for his forechecking ability, but don’t want to mess with his line, which has really been the only consistent offense we’ve had 5-on-5.

No disrespect to PDG and Laff… they are both exceeding expectations, but just aren’t skilled enough to be in the top 6.

Yeah, it sucks cause this was a trap game – but at least I appreciate that this team is clearly losing as a team. The team are still sticking up for each other and you could clearly see how gutted Miller was when he missed that shot late in the 3rd.

  9. Greenarrowfan

LA has multiple 3 to 4 days off in November…..how does that make any sense.

  10. chaotic_evill

Fucking Christ there’s some doomers and gloomers in here, but I mean I really shouldn’t expect anything less from our fanbase. Yeah it’s shit to lose against the worst team, but get over it. Our record is still legit. We are still a good team this season. Go smoke a joint and relax.

  11. Giraffe-kit

Boots on the ground…. We’ll see em in the playoffs…

  12. metrichustle

Miller, Boeser, Hughes and Hronek doing everything they can to win. But the other stars need to show up. Petey, when’s the last time you scored 5v5?

    C’mon Petey. Can’t make 12M as a PP specialist.

  13. AidanITC2

loosing is bad but loosing to the sharks is pretty crazy not gonna lie

  14. Felt like Petey’s hit and the mini bench brawl woke the entire team up.

Not too worried about the loss though, especially with the type of pressure we applied in the last 5 minutes of the game. You can tell the team just hunkered down and tried to get everything on net, which is what we should’ve been doing all game. Just sucks that we couldn’t get the W, but you can’t win them all.

  15. Stinky_Toes12

I was delusional to think we could carry the energy from seattle to san jose

  16. ebcooper12

Was at the game (long time Bay Area Canucks fan!) and was very pleased to see us come out on top during that fight. The schedule for them and other teams seems like a lot. Good energy from fellow fans while leaving too. I was also at the 10-1 game and obviously that was way more fun lol

Sharks played well, our record is still good, we should be grateful that last year we wouldn’t have given this loss a second thought and this year we’re doing so well that a loss like this makes us panic.

I know we’ve got some serious ptsd but we aren’t the team from last year, have faith in tocchet holding the boys accountable and enjoy the ride boys

  18. carry-on_replacement

I feel bad for Lafferty, that disallowed goal killed the momentum for everyone

  19. shadownet97

    The November curse strikes again.

I can’t wait to tear it up in December like before.

  20. Ruilin96

As a fan of many bad Canucks teams spaning from 2015 onward, I know from personal experience that even bad teams finds ways to win some games against top teams throughout a long season. I have seen these bad Canucks teams beat some these teams when they were still good back in 2015-2019: Penguins, Capitals, Nashville, Chicago, Boston etc.

  21. UraSnotball_

I think this loss will piss the team off, and that is a good thing.

  22. notarealredditor69

Is it just me or is Garland a really good hockey player?

  23. 83tinman

    Cale Makar speaks very well.

Can’t win em all, the sharks had this one circled a long way back they had way more energy. Really need to bounce back Tuesday before the run of games after. Strange we aren’t forcing any OTLs.

  24. Whole_Chemical_1103

Oof we need to fill some cracks. The team needs to iron out some shit it they definitely have so much potential.

  25. NikkahEff

I love Tocchet’s post-game, he’s so real and he’s not giving these guys an excuse

  26. ProphetofElias

I expected this loss in terms of how the schedule was. Missed it cause I was playing a gig but I’m gonna guess it’s another version of learning to play tired or some form of that.

  27. tape2tapeDOTnet

Sold my ep40 jersey for a hotdog outside SAP Center

  28. CheesecakeOdd2087

Glad to hear Tocchet’s post game comments. Should not be losing to the Sharks, even if it is a back to back. That said, this was definitely one of those frustrating games where the Sharks scored on basically every good look they got while the Canucks flubbed multiple Grade A chances. Sometimes it just goes that way. On to the next.

No matter what most deniers say, Canucks have had a bad play-style for the last month, they only have like 1 or 2 wins against winning teams in the past month.

They’ve got lucky because of timely goals, hard work from the 3rd/4th lines, and Demko being a boss.

They had something at the beginning of the season, a system that worked well, but they’ve lost it. They went from looking like a Boston/Vegas/Colorado team back to a Canadian team. This is not just because they lost to the Sharks, it’s been there a while, people just usually deny it until its evident enough for them to pick up on.

If it wasn’t for the bottom-6 stepping up, and having Hughes, Demko and Boeser playing fantastic, Canucks would be in their usual spot of being ass.
