This team needs to get bulkier on the back end. It was a noticeable difference when we had guys like Soucy and Cole playing physical and protecting the netfront.
I really hope we go in a different direction than Bear. The guy is the definition of soft, way to easy to play against in his own end. There’s a reason he keeps getting dropped from competitive teams.

You know what amazes me? Allvin will get up there and say like « yeah we hope to get some more speed » or « yeah we want to dump some cap » or this one « we think we can get some help ». And then all in like a super reasonable time frame just…….does. I have never believed a GM more than Allvin in my life
If they bring Tanev back I’ll be so fucking happy.

Chris Tanev is like your first car. Sure you loved it the first time but if you re-bought it years later it just wouldn’t be the same.
I liked Tanev in 2019. It’s now 2023. Time for something new and shiny.
One of the problems with Tanev is Calgary. They’re getting closer to a wild card spot and are likely loathe to trade him to a division rival that they’ll be fighting to get in the playoffs.
Don’t know why so many people are so keen on Bear. He’s not a needle mover and that would be such an underwhelming use of the freed up cap space. He gets bitched around way too often and it’s painful seeing him getting mopped up in board battles only to flip the puck into the neutral zone and do a line shift. No thank you.
Gotta swing for the fences and go bold. No need for a D version of Beauvillier.

Crazy thought but I wonder if they could pull something off to get one of the defensemen in Columbus and Laine for a package centered around Kuzmenko.
Laine’s value can’t be near what it once was and in the right system with the right coach I wonder if he could regain his form
