Got goalie’d by Lindgren. It happens; move on to the next game

  2. Zanchbot

Honestly, what can you even say? It was blueballs in hockey form, Kings did everything except get that 2nd goal, just got goalied to the extreme. Shit happens, they’ll recover. I only wish we didn’t have to sit here and stew about it until fucking Sunday before the next game!

  3. parker2520

Solid effort. Disappointing to not get a point out of that game

  4. A-Kings-Fan

I don’t think I have ever seen them play better than that third period

  5. raymondliang

I mean that was one of the better games we’ve played, just got goalied. And Englund and Roy had bad plays for the first time in a while. Really unfortunate considering there is ANOTHER 3 day gap…

Painful execution in the final minutes.. Doughty and Kopi were dreadful there.

  6. I’m way more scared of some obscure backup than a Vezina candidate

  7. nessman930

That game has fuckey written all over it. Total trap game. Out shot, out played them, and they still got the W.

  8. rascalmonster

Literally the opposite of Puck luck. Figured the caps would win after they lost to the sharks, kings deserved to win but sometimes the hockey gods decide something else.

  9. Some nights, you play your heart out and their goalie is a beast. Caps stole one, and Lindgren better not pay for his own drinks the rest of the road trip.

  10. MacJonesIsOverrated

    Meh

Dominated and got unlucky against a well structured bunker team

This game shows we cannot trade Clarke under any circumstance. He is the type of player who turns this from a loss to a win

We have the best passing in the league but only Kempe and Kaliyev are true shoot first guys. This was the type of game where we tried to pass it into the net when you wanted a Clarke to just take over

Games like this happen. On to the next one. GKG

  12. cheesypeenis

Lindgren was a brick wall. Thats all I have to say

  13. GrassyKnoll95

If you look up « goalied » in the dictionary this is what you see. We were by far the better team, but we made a couple mistakes and the Caps took advantage

  14. Edmuresay

Irritating, but not really mad. The boys played their nuts off and did tie it unofficially. Goalie stood on his head, I feel like that’s a win most nights. That’s how she goes sometimes.

    On to the next. GKG

  15. aughtrocktalk

I think Lindgren lands up stealing the starting role from Keumper. He’s absolutely killing it this year. Gotta hand it to him. Robbed the hell out of us.

  16. Thumper13

Frustrating. Got goalied. Guys threw everything at him.

BS offsides rule needs to be amended.

Gonna lose some. Guys fought hard. If you’re freaking out and questioning their fight tonight you’re lost.

There is nothing to feel bad about with this loss. We dominated and were by far the better team. We worked very hard to tie it up and it got called back. Their goaltender stood on his head. You play like that and 9 times out 10 you win. This was the one time you don’t. This team is damn good. Most of the times we’ve lost this season we were still the better team. Park it and move on to the next. It’s just too bad there’s so many damn days off between games this season so far.

  18. Pm_edgar_haircuts

another game vs a team with a pulse and we can’t pull thru. Dubois looked like dogshit, refs even tried to give us the game. When looking too cute goes wrong.

  19. TheWayDenzelSaysIt

I’m not mad at all. Sometimes goalies will steal games. We just need to keep doing our thing.

  20. matutewittg

Getting goalied bye a no name like Lindgreen sucks. Also, Spence doesnt move me.

  21. GG WP Caps (Lindgren). Kings can look back at tonight and know it wasn’t their fault.

  22. Mookies_Bett

Worst part of this is that now we have to beat the Avs if we don’t want to start a losing streak. This was supposed to be an easy two points against an extremely old team.

Of course when Vegas, Vancouver, NY, and Boston all lose we have to play down to a shitty team like the Caps and lose so that we don’t gain any ground.

The tide is starting to turn on Dubois at this point. I’ve been very patient with him, but that contract gets uglier and uglier every game. He’s non-existent out there. He has one or two drives to the net that look flashy but ultimately don’t result in anything per game and then fades into the background never to be seen again.

I thought we were getting an all star caliber player. We gave up Vilardi and Iafallo for *this*? Disaster contract if he doesn’t turn things around *soon*. I wonder how long before the media turns on him and he decides he doesn’t give a shit about the team anymore and wants a trade. Clocks ticking.

  23. vordhosbn_1

the entire caps team owes Lindgren a 24-pack. one per player

  24. PlanetofTheApesVirus

Sucks we lost but it was an amazing game

  25. sophophora

Man that sucked. Hard to get too mad though, it wasn’t for a lack of effort.

Unbelievable performance by Lindgren combined with a technically correct but really frustrating overturned goal, some bad bounces, and an opponent that just put all of their effort into collapsing down and blocking fucking everything.

  26. Expendable_0

*smells a loss and comes out of the woodwork*

    Fire TMac!
    Dubious trade was a disaster!
    Byfield didn’t score once!
When are we going to fix our disaster goaltending!

    *Crawls back under a rock*

  27. davidgoldstein2023

This team rocks and rolls. The Capitals are not that good of a team. We just had no puck luck today. Called back goal. Nothing went the Kings way and it wasn’t meant to be. People can keep underestimating this team. We’re contenders and it’ll show come playoffs. Shake it off, Kings. Long week next week with 5 games in 8 days.

  28. rfguevar

Something has to change with the challenge rule, almost a full minute in the offensive zone, just to score and have it overturned.

Good fight from the boys, let’s get another win streak going. GO KINGS GO

  29. TeMilkMan

The most annoying thing is we have to sit on this for another 3 days before they have to face the avs, stupid fucking nhl scheduling

  30. cmillhouse

Yikes, 8.5 mil for 8 more years and Dubois is not one of the six skaters with goalie pulled. He’s gotta get it going.

  31. Persianx6

Lindgren won them this game, man was having an out of body experience blocking shot after shot after shot.

  32. matutewittg

If coasting was a sport Dubois would be the undisputed Goat.

  33. Bardocck

We can’t win every game stop bitching every time we lose everything will be fine

  34. itwillbeprobablyok

My big takeaway from today is that a team that consistently plays the way the Kings did tonight is a team that can win 7 game series.

  35. henreiman

Didn’t get to watch this game live #eastcoast so chiming in late, but if we only ever lose games where we let just 2 in and have almost 40 SOG then we won’t lose often

    GKG on to the next

  36. andrewdoesit

Gotta give credit where credit is due. This game just wasn’t our night. The caps were ridiculous with making defensive plays with their sticks. They shut down our net front presence early and often and made sure we couldn’t finish rebounds. They knew the assignment and they executed only slightly better than us and they ultimately got the game. I really didn’t see anything egregious on our end to cause concern. Just one of those night. Can’t win all 82. We’re still looking phenomenal out there and we’re about a third of the way through. We’re in a damn good spot.

  37. ClinchEastwood

Hopefully this L reignites that fire they’ve been playing with lately and they are ready for the Avalanche.

  38. Ok_Imagination6031

Great game to be at last night, despite the L. There was a palpable sense that the Kings were taking the game over in the 3rd and that Kopi’s « goal » was going to be the straw that broke the Capitals’ collective back. Alas, it was overturned (correctly) on a technicality. Sometimes, a team manages to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. It’s sports. It happens.
