There is only one player in this draft who is as important and integral as Mo Sieder and he went 1st so🤷♂ big Mo was a steal!
I thought Cozens was going to produce more goals and points. Not so far. Or maybe he will never have the offense .
I think he still has great potential. He’s looking real good in the AHL. Concussions are brutal
as a kings fan, prolly seider, if he panned out the same as he did on the wings anderson and clarke could be an eventual pairing. at this moment id probably say anderson and roy would be the pair if seider was on the team
Any old time habs fan would have been nervous about drafting Alfie Turcotte's son
The worst thing to happen to Alex Turcotte was being drafted by the LA Kings. They are absolute trash at developing forwards. Byfield is doing fantastic so far but before him it's Adrien Kempe. And that's about it. If Turcotte would have been drafted by a bad team he would already be playing in the big league. Kings did a horrible job developing Alex Turcotte.
He was the right pick. His development has been hampered but he is clearly NHL ready now. The Kings have limited options on where to play him. He will probably have to play LW3 or LW4 next year with Arvidsson and Lewis' departure.
Byfield-Kopitar-Kempe
Fiala-Danault-Moore
Turcotte-Dubois-Laferriere
Grundstrom-Lizotte-Kaliyev
Fagemo
Perhaps he moves to center when Kopitar and Danault departs in 2026.
Kakko has been such a big dissapointment this year
Turcotte was the right pick for LA he is the exact style of player LA likes, high skill but more importantly, responsible and he's the type of player that can play any foward position so he doesn't have to be center
From what I’ve read, Bowen was the pick. Colorado probably surprised the FO and Alex was a panic pick. He’s doing better this year though and there’s a place for him on the fourth line
the kings organization has the top scouts in germany and yet they whiffed on seider and stuetzle (gkad byfield is finally turning out to be ok)
But regardless the organization is top heavy on C because the game has changed A LOT. Before it was all about your Top6 and your 1-2 punch. Nowadays, its your top 9 and your 1-2-3 punch and having a solid strong 4th line is also super important
Just look at how amazing the kings 3 lines are. Yet they have one of the best 4th lines in the NHL.
Turcotte will get his minutes once kopitar retires within the next 2-3 years. He just needs to be patient. Byfield rode the waves on the 4th line in his first year and then 3rd and now 1st line with kopi and kempe. Turcotte is doing well in the AHL averaging a pt per game. So I wouldnt call him a bust just yet.
all those other players mentioned don't fit the kings dna ….200 ft players AT does
Turcotte just had his FIRST healthy offseason. And now he looks NHL ready in the minors. You can’t knock him or the team for slow development when the most important time for young players to develop has been robbed from him every year of his career until this year.
The kings were all in on Bowen Byram that year as they really needed a D man. However once Colorado took byram at 4, they were forced to pivot. Mind you this was the beginning of their stock piling of centers (with the exception of kupari in 2018)
Danault, byfield, dubois were not even in the thought process at that point.
Kempe was a center during this draft as well. His scoring didn't hit another level till he was transitioned to right wing but he was the #2 center back then behind Kopi.
Relax..
I think he’s pretty much a bust, BUT he is having a monster year so far in the AHL. So jury is still out, IMO.
He will be on the wing
