I love Nylander and I think he's an extremely gifted offensive player. But his game does come with some warts, especially on the defensive side. GMs will look at the last play as a reminder of why you can't pay Nylander what he wants. It's unfortunate because Nylander started the season on such a tear. There's nothing better in life than 2 proud original six franchises battling it out on a Saturday night in either Montreal, Toronto or Boston. B's-Habs and B's-Leafs games never disappoint. Terrific NHL hockey game. B's with the lead most of the game, Leafs come back multiple times before tying the game with 5 seconds left. B's then dominate the OT and score the winner with 7 seconds left on the road in Toronto. Goalies were tremendous.

If you're Toronto and you want to stop losing to Boston, you need to win in the first and keep the pressure on, while basically playing stingy as hell D. Five straight now. We could've won this one. All's I's Know's is, when we get fully healthy, we'll be on a tear if coaching stays the course. Still need to move Willy for D help imminently, but the team looks good. Honestly though, without some changes, this team is looking at a 1st or 2nd round exit, and I say that as a Leafs fan. We are weaker than last year, and Boston is destined for a good run this year, so meeting them will be inevitable. If we want to win anything worth a regular season's passage, we have to be prepared to outclass these teams with our superior firepower/weaponry. Frankly, I said anything less than a 2nd round appearance would be a failure of a season last year, and while they certainly advanced, they pissed the bed so quick the 20 year milestone almost became negligent. So it was barely a success by that metric. (Cries in Leafs fan.) Anyhow, anything less than a conference appearance I would consider a failure for this squad. They've had so many chances to make it work, and only advancing to the ECF would justify keeping this team together. If they get bounced in first or second, it's time to get the sledgehammer out. GLG.
