@Sabres de Buffalo

    They can absolutely turn it around. Tage back in the lineup is huge. Give him a couple games to get back in the flow and we immediately take a step up in scoring threat. Quinn going down hurt us a lot. Peterka has been fucking money.

    Nah it’s over. It’s always going to be over until they have new ownership in place that sets up a good front office that bleeds down to coaching and players. Pegulas have their hands in every aspect of the team that they shouldn’t and it’s made this franchise into what it is today. So yes, it is over.

  3. If they can get healthy and stay healthy then possibly. But they have been down 2-3 top 6 forwards basically all season and it’s cost them.

    I like the Hockey Guy. I wish I had all his sweaters. That said- this is an inflection point for the swords. We know GMKA’s MO: 1. He thinks the solution is always in the room and 2. He doesn’t overpay for rentals.

    My expectation: he should overpay for a D man on an expiring contract. IE Jokijarju and 3rd for Tanev. Settle that back end. Why? Because the goalies are making saves, help on the forward ranks is on the way and you won’t be preventing growth elsewhere on the roster.

    They can turn it around if they fire granato and get a real coach

    This team absolutely should turn around if we’re talking about over the course of years, but I have no reason to think they can turn this season around with this roster, this current staff, and our current goaltending. At this point it’s just beating a dead horse. Nothing has changed since this summer except that the teams around us have gotten deeper. This team needs a goalie that can start games not named UPL and a defensively responsible partner for Power. Tanev is out there and while I respect KA for not wanting to overpay for players, we’re not doing any favors for OP or Levi’s development the longer we wait. I think Buffalo is also re acquiring their old reputation for softness as well which has been painful to watch. They could use another grinder, but much more importantly team mentality has to change and they have to have each others backs.

    We’d need to play around .630 points percentage for the rest of the games to have a good shot at the playoffs. We’ve been struggling to play around .500 right now. We’re pretty much done.

    As a fan I want to believe but if I put aside my delusions there’s really no chance. They’ve dug too big a hole and the teams they’ll be struggling to overtake are better than them. I’ll still watch all the games but not expecting playoffs this year.

  9. AgeOfTheExpandingMan

    The guy from Locked on Sabres podcast said that they are one point off of where they were last year. Hard to believe.

    I will watch every game and keep the hoping they turn it around.

    They absolutely have to turn it around offensively, they need to have the 5v5 generation come back, they still finish at a solid rate it’s just they don’t generate any chances

  11. As Hockey Guy said, December is going to be tough. We’ll know a lot more by January 1…

    Yes. No. Maybe. I don’t know, could you repeat the question?
