  1. Let's face it. If the Wings play the kind of defense in the 3rd period like they did against the Sabres and the Canadiens, they will not get make it to the playoffs this year. They have to protect the lead as best they can and be aggressive enough to push the puck into the opposing team's zone. I like Larkin, but if he actually believes what he told that lady reporter in the beginning about the fact that the Wings STILL got 2 points in each of those last 2 games, the Wings will eventually run outta luck. You can't play defense like that in the 3rd period while trying to protect the lead. The odds will eventually go against you and you'll lose those games on momentum. Larkin is sounding like a politician when giving his explanation about the lackadaisical performance in defense during the 3rd period. The Wings almost lost the last 2 games because of they're horrific defensive play in the 3rd period.

  2. When Wings' goalie, Alex Lyon, took off his mask after Buffalo's 3rd goal (bring the Sabres within 1 when it was Wings 4, Sabres 3), I thought he was gonna lose it. I don't doubt Alex Lyon was livid over the horrific defensive play of the Wings during this game, and I wouldn't doubt he felt the same way when the Wings' defense almost let Husso lose toward the end of the Montreal game. Wings better change their tune during the 3rd period when they're protecting a lead, or the much better teams than Montreal and Buffalo will not show any mercy on them.

  3. I like Alex, I hope he becomes the starter and Husso can develop more into our future. Both are great goalies, but Alex has a very conscious mind. Surprised he has only just started to break out.
