  1. Unacceptable loss, but they had been well recently and are still in a playoff spot. Got a point at least. Let's pump the brakes a little.

  2. Husso is Ned take #2. Closed out a half season poorly, continued the next half season poorly. If coaches were fair Husso would be sent down in Jan., and traded next off season. Count on him to let in 2 or 3 soft goals a game. He's weak glove side and is caught out of position especially on the post.

  3. Honestly I blame the team for last night, not Husso. That was an embarrassing effort after we went up 4.

  4. How exactly was it a Ville Husso meltdown? lol look at the the team that’s in front of him at the time of the goals.

No where near all Huss fault

  5. Husso was the only reason the Wings weren't down 4-0 in the 1st. Not saying those weren't soft goals the rest of the way, but the D started out bad, then completely fell off once they were up a few goals. Absolutely abysmal defensive showing from start to finish.

  6. Look at the 4th goal to tie the game. Our defense just gave up and didn't even fight for the puck ??? why?

  7. Blackwood gave up 4 goals on 20 shots and got pulled. Husso gave up 4 goals on 23 shots and stayed in the whole game. If both goalies get lit up like that, its likely more of a defensive issue on both ends. The wings couldve pulled Husso if they wanted to, but they didn't. Husso was solid in the first period. Fans on social media are just looking for a scapegoat for why their team lost and the goalie is the easiest one to blame.

  8. I wonder how much longer it'll be until we start talking about goaltending coaches. Husso, and Ned for what it's worth, both showed flashes and streaks of the potential to be substantial #1 goalies, and in their debut first few months they looked spectacular, but just seemed to get progressively more rocky and shaken from then on. I still think the defense is a toss up on any given night and is a more important priority, but if the defense improves and the goaltending doesn't there may be some off-ice positions to discuss because I don't think Husso or Ned are truly minor leaguer's.

  9. Wouldn't put it on Husso. Put it on the Voodoo Dolls someones helping the Sharks and 'Yotes with, and the sheer power it is giving them.

  10. Poor passing and a careless attitude toward puck control by the whole D core. No way in hell this group shouldn't be able to clamp down with a 4 – 0 lead and win this game. If Lalonde can't teach these guys (quickly) how to close out a game defensively then maybe we need a coach who can. Riding on Kane's back into a playoff spot isn't a good plan.

  11. Ville Husso is not to blame for last night's game. Coach Lalonde is. Two goaltenders melted down last night. One of them was wisely pulled (Blackwood), one was UNwisely not pulled (Husso). Husso has played poorly all season. Coach Lalonde has been coddling him for some reason. We are thinking the coach is trying to play the emotional counselor role. We would rather the coach play the coach role. There is an old saying: "Play the hot hand". Husso has not been the hot hand this season. He has had maybe 2 really good games so far. A look at his stats verifies that statement. The Red Wings have a winning record but their "Number 1" goaltender has a subpar record. Winning teams should not have a goaltender with under .900 save percentage and over 3.25 goals against. Coach Lalonde cannot expect his team to score 4 to 5 goals nightly. If coach Lalonde does not wake up and smell the coffee the Red Wings record will turn sour midway through this season. The Red Wings have a history of playing poorly from late December through January. Husso has never been proven to be a #1 goaltender and at this current time he is not proving that. He may recover from this sluggishness but the team cannot afford to wait and see. At minimum the Red Wings need to revert to the 2 equal goaltender format until someone becomes the clear number 1.

  12. Lablind. Talked up Husso and blamed it pretty much on the defense. I've followed Detroit since the 1960's Lalond being a politician is not good. The game I saw the defense sucked and the goalltender sucked worse. If Lalond wants to be a politician then give up coaching.
