It's not 2012. Kane is good,but adding him does nothing to push the Redwings into contention. If anything, he's going to take mins and pp time away from young players who need to continue to develop. Great, they added Kane. However, the Redwings aren't even close to winning a cup. Are they even a playoff team ? Wait until TB gets healthy and the Leafs go on a 25 -5–5 run. I guess you can always see how you're doing at the tradedeadline and ship Kane out for a pick. I thought Steve wanted his young core to play more minutes and develop. Isn't that the reason he shipped Hronek to Van. Which, by the way, is looking like a pretty big mistake right now.
