Wish this game took place in todays Bettman era, 8D
372 PMs handed out in that first period, XD
this is the Randy Holt game 67 penalty minutes.
some person in the stand is filming this game.
I love the Flyers homer announcers. Bert Wilson NAILED Behn with two straight rights at the end of the fight and Behn quit.
@45:35, the announcer dropped an unbelievagable. 😂😂😂
1979 or 1929?
As best I can tell this was a recording from within the spectrum itself. Probably for coaches to evaluate positioning. That horrible corner angle was only used for replays in a normal broadcast. Every once in a while, whoever was recording this, switched the recording to the Prism broadcast when play stopped. They also switched from the radio broadcast voices at the beginning (Gene Hart & Bobby Taylor) to the Prism cable broadcast team of Gary Dornhoefer (just retired) & unidentified play-by-play guy. Prism didn't air commercials during that time period during sporting events.
What an embarrassment the Flyers were to hockey in the 1970s.
Until L.A. management found a match for Dionne, the Kings had crap offense. No big names on the team, except Goring.
What a game and that was only the 1st period. After all these years, I'll never figure out what Randy Holt did to get himself a "Triple Game Misconduct" and set a record for the most penalty minutes in a game: 57 minutes if memory serves me correctly. In my opinion, I miss this kind of hockey. However, I'm likely in the minority.
Found the box score in case you wondered how the penalties were distributed: http://www.flyershistory.com/cgi-bin/boxscore.cgi?19780561
Do you have any footage of the Flyers' brawls with the California Seals?
Unbelievagitable
Funny that the Flyers were without Hoyda and DuPont and still had more than enough enforcers.
hey Flyers! how do you like no Cup for 47 years and counting??
51:25 sounds like you can hear the first punch Bridgeman connected with. I dont ever actually remember hearing a dude get hit like that before in a hockey fight.
