  1. Lucy in despise, if he is not an automatic, why are people in , playing triple A midget , and Tavares, captain of 2 NHL teams with a thousand points, playing NHL

  2. As far as the Hall of Fame goes, I go back-and-forth. Sometimes I think that these guys who are on the bubble should be in the Hall of Fame, but then I also think that letting too many players in downgrades the accomplishment.

  3. JT is a 100% lock on HOF. He's already the 98th highest point scoring player in the entire history of the league… and (barring serious injury) by the time he retires will likely have around 1200 points which would put him right around the top 50 all time career point totals. How can anyone even question the fact that he's one of the most consistent players in the history of the league… his stats prove it.

  4. “Steady Tavares” – point a game player his entire career. -with no sign of production slowdown yet.
He may just have enough gas to hit the 1250-1300 point mark for his career.
That would put him in the Hall of Fame without question.

  5. As an Islanders fan, honestly I see why Leaf’s fans don’t get why we won’t let it go. But let me put it this way. Imagine if Matthew’s or Marner was on the last year of their deal. They keep saying they are going to resign. But then they change their mind, and leave to go to another team in the offseason. Leafs fans would be as mad at marner or Matthew’s as islanders fans are as mad at Tavares

  6. Does he go into the HHOF for being the most passionless captain? He shows 0 fight in games. Literally and figuratively. He's a bum.

  7. He is so incredibly consistent. He manages the puck so well on his shifts good things end up happening.

  8. I wonder in Connor McDavid will get the same treatment from Oiler fans when he returns with his new team after he becomes a UFA? If there’s no cup in Edmonton by then, Connor is as good as gone

  9. I think it'd be hard for him to get into the Hall without at least one Cup. Also, don't understand the hate Tavares gets on the Island. Like, I got it for a while, but at some point people just got to move on.

  10. i'd say the only reason he's on there shit list is the fact he strung them along all season to which they did not trade him for assets completely screwing over the islanders once he made the decision in july!

  11. tavares does not deserve Hall of Fame status. Weak leader. If he gets in and Roenick doesn't, i won't know what to say.

  12. He's not a HOF yet, and the fan(s) who decided to flip the middle finger etc, after he got the 1000pts, needs to get a life and get his priorities in check. It's been 6 years since Tavares left. It's a business, get over it, move on.

  13. As an Islanders fan, I totally understood him going to the Maple Leafs when given the chance. If I was given a chance to play for the Islanders, I’d have left any other team I was playing for!

  14. I'm not gonna say he's a no brainer for the Hall of Fame but I would say that if Patrick Marleau gets in, I don't see why Tavares shouldn't (considering he keeps this pace until he retires). 1000 points is pretty great and of course he didn't win a whole lot or anything but I think consistency should still be a factor if you manage to keep it for a decade and a half.

  15. I love jt but hes never had a deep run, ever the furthest he's been is losing the second round. I think he needs at least a couple of deep runs to solidify his HOF chances

  16. im so glad he got 1000 against islanders, its poetic. also seeing his dads reaction was just amazing.

i think if he can bring the leafs to a cup, hes guaranteed HOF
