Players are there for a job, to make some money, if they have to start assuming their opponents gonna try to break their neck they’ll stop playing or turn this sport into a WWE match where every team has like 2-3 300 pound monsters on the bench with the sole purpose of inflicting damage or taking out opposing brutes. Imagine having to go to work with a known violent threat or have to be forced into close physical confrontation with him not knowing when the finishing move is gonna come. Not only morally impossible to back up but legally the org and players need to create a safe place to work or laws start getting broke and sports get ruined.
