1. I am a long-term Canuck fan. In my view, only Pavel Bure and Roberto Luongo deserve their numbers retired as Canucks.

  2. So off topic here, but I am a die hard Vancouver sports radio fan, hearing Sekeres & Price's voices, while seeing their faces for the 1st time (I know… what?), is causing my brain to short a fuse. I always had a false visual of what they would look like based on their voices, but its not even close. My brain is struggling right now. So happy you boys are doing this on youtube!
And… YES. Canucks should retire Lu's #1 – Without question
    "LUUUUUUUUUUU!"

  3. Can’t stand the black, red, and yellow flying skate. Loved it as a kid. Can’t stand it now. Love the hockey rink. If they changed the flying skate to the blue and green colour scheme then that would be the best.

  4. Smyl, Linden, Naslund, Daniel and Henrik.

My list ends there as a 50+ year Canucks fan.

I love the Ring Of Honour, because of Snepts, Gradin, Mclean, Kurtenbach and Pat Quinn.

In my opinion (yes, my personal opinion) these people did more and meant more to the club than Luongo and Bure ever did and will. McLean did the same thing that Luongo did, took us to a game 7 in the Cup Final, with a weaker team and then lost in OT in game 7 in MSG.

Then the #4 for Luc Bourdon and #11 for Wayne Maki (FU Messyer), should not be worn out of respect for those players who passed while being members of the team.

  5. He made his bed. Quit whining about it already. You underestimate or ignore altogether how disappointing it was when he decided to retire, knowingly pushing Vancouver into that epic recapture, then taking a cush Panther front office salary to cover his losses, a play to improve Florida and weaken the Canucks. That's it. That's the whole deal why not. You don't retire a frenemy's jersey.

  6. Sorry Frank, no to Luongo getting his jersey retired, they did it for him in Florida where he spent most of his career before and after Vancouver. Jersey retirement should only be for players who played the vast majority of their career in Vancouver, are HHOFers and were far better than anyone at their position. It's why I've always said that only Henrik and Daniel should have their numbers up there in the rafters. Bure I can live with because he is a HOFer and played at least 60% of his career in Vancouver and probably would have played longer had the team not screwed him over. But I've never liked having Smyl, Linden and Naslund's numbers retired as it feels more like they were retired for their service and notoriety in the city than for their actual accomplishments. If MacLean didn't get his number retired and he did exactly the same thing as Luongo did AND played most of his career in Vancouver, why should Luongo?
