  1. Let's report on a report on a rumor.
Trading two future players for a 33 yr old makes perfectly good sense!
Now here is something to chew on.
Does anyone believe or think William Nylander Marner Mathews Travares would negotiate any new contact that would pay those players a base salary then at the end of the contract receive the remainder?
If Ohtani is willing to negotiate a contract that will help the team signed with to have more money to sign other players ?
Treliving took over a team with major salary issues, Dubas didn't do his former team any favors ! Or has Shanahan.

  2. Lets keep our kids that’s are future all GMs just looking to steal from us, we have good players and the young ones just need time they have been all winners throughout their prime.

  3. Why would you overpay now? Those 2 kids are chips. Were winning for the most part. Guys will get healthy. Also ypu dont need a goalie. Martin johms or Sammy are fine as back ups once woll comes back. Wait. Be patient. Make the right move. Not a panic move.

  4. Good I'm fine with not paying the Toronto tax no trading top prospect s for rentals. This is looking like a step back year

  5. Treliving is absolutely right about Minten and Cowan. Those are 2 prospects with a high ceilings on entry level contracts for the next 3 years. We need that kind of cheap talent if we're gonna be paying Matthews, Marner and Nylander big money.

  6. As a Flames fan, I don’t want Cowan, he’s too small. Cgy already has a hand full of players being pushed to the ice all the time but Minten, is a decent size player. Cgy should be him.

  7. Supposedly Nylander wants to explore the free agent market not really surprise but this isn't any indication that he's leaving. A lot of players explore free agent markets but Nylander did say it would a lot for me to want to leave toronto so. He still can sign in Toronto there's not really any confirmation that Nylander is leaving. And the pitraburgh game tonight against toronto could announce about Torontos player Nylander testing free agency
