Tell em Larks. Open communication is how things start to change.

I’d be livid as a Jets fan for the Connor incident.

I want to see the reaction in r/nhl

It’s so obvious, Joseph’s goal was to clear Larkin from the front of the net, he didn’t shove his body, hip, chest, shoulder. His first contact with him was a punch with the butt end of his stick to the back of the head.

The NHLs response to this play, not suspending Joseph, endorses this strategy as a legit way to clear the front of the net, bonus points if it injures the other teams best player.

I’d trade a two minute power play to take Tkatchuck out of the game any time, but I would prefer my team doesn’t play dangerously dirty hockey.

If that’s how it’s gonna be, let’s make a fourth line of only goons whose job is to target the head and neck of the other teams captains and best player (kidding, kind of?).

  4. He’s not wrong. The DoPS is incompetence run by a foole.

It’s crazy to me, the NHL wants to promote their stars. The game is too fast for enforcers anymore and they have been mostly blackballed from the league. I partially blame the CBA because NHLPA agreed to these rules the $5,000 fine bullshit. The thing that angers me most is the complete lack of consistency. Trouba gets 0 games, Perron gets 6. There needs to be clearly defined minimum suspensions. High stick well after the whistle is 5 games. Slewfoot is 5 games, etc. until that happens and while we still have a literal goon deciding suspensions then we will keep getting these results.

Thank you Larkin, the amount of people who played down what happened was pretty sickening.

  7. Perron deserved his six games but so do a helluva lot more goons in the league taking out its stars. I want to see Connor score 40 not have his knee exploded by a fringe player for no reason.

  8. I know the game is different now, but if we had a Probert type player, this shit would likely come to a stop.

Until now the NHL and the DoPS take steps to rein in these goons stuff like this will continue to happen. I’m glad Larks is speaking up about it at least. It’s hard to blame him for feeling that way the DoPS has let him down as much as any player.

There are lots of things that NHL fans disagree on, but most agree that DoPS is a joke. The fact that Parros has a job after all these years is an indictment of the NHL’s supposed committment to ensuring player safety. Dangerous and intentional actions that cause injuries are often given small fines, and it is considered a surprising thing when a player is given a punishment that fits their crime. It makes it really hard for me to continue supporting this league. I’ll watch online for free and not buy tickets. They don’t deserve my money until they take this shit seriously.

Incoming fine and worth every penny. Good for Larks. DoPS is a bad joke

Does anyone here remember Paul Kariya?
Ya. It’s nothing new. But hey , we keep glorifying the « Machoism » of the sport.

George Parros is just keeping the seat at DoPS warm until Brad Marchand retires and he can take over the position.
