How many mistakes, turnovers in the NJ zone and failure to clear the zone have resulted in goals against? Answer…a lot. Opponents are not creating or producing chances very often. Opponents are taking advantage of the many miscues this team is having. The defense has cleaned much of this up in the last several games. There has been improvement but when a forward is making horrible decisions behind the blue line, when there is time to make better ones, it’s frustrating and concerning.
The guy can’t score every night. There’s plenty of other players on this team that need to start pulling their weight.
6th in the Metro.

Embarrassing to call Jack out the one time he doesn’t carry the team lol guy can’t do it all
Has this sub lost its collective mind over the past few days? Jack is likely the greatest offensive talent the devils have ever seen, and he plays a pretty complete game. When you see other fanbases complaining about their star players, it’s usually because they feel like they’re being lazy on D. That’s not Jack.
This is a guy who is constantly stripping the puck, anticipating passes, and even throwing hits lately. He gets fired up, he’s passionate about this team. The amount of games we’ve won that we shouldn’t have because of his effort is significant. So to jump on his back because he has a couple bad games is insane to me. He’s frustrated, and quite frankly he’s probably pretty damn tired. Lindy double shifts the kid what feels like every third period because he can’t put together a full roster that pulls their weight. It’s not productive to single him out like this when it’s the entire team that isn’t playing well lately.
I’m not saying he should be immune from criticism, but let’s have a little perspective before we go crucifying the best thing that’s happened to this team in a long time.
Probably the worst Hughes game since his rookie year. Absolutely sucked last night.
