  1. The one worth reading is about the infamous exchange between Keefe and Vesey, in which the latter’s game was described as vanilla. Vesey said of it:

    >“I haven’t watched it, but I don’t think I should have been featured as prominently as I was, from what I’ve heard. In a documentary about a team that lost in the first round of the playoffs and I wasn’t there for it. I think they had final say on what went in it and sometimes you have to point the arrow somewhere else other than at yourself.”

  2. and that’s why he ended up back on waivers. bad attitude … boy, bye!

  3. I can’t think “Vesey” without thinking “vanilla”. Forever synonymous.

He’s not even saying anything controversial at all, no idea why everyones worked up in this thread lol.

He was signed for 1 year for 900k. He was never expected to be a top guy or be a difference maker. All hes saying is that he was irrelevant enough in the grand scheme that it didn’t make sense to focus on his failings.

My thoughts about Jimmy Vesey as an NHL’er pre leafs tenure was typical masshole who got told he was the best thing to ever put on skates probably his entire hockey life and who’s ego was continuously stroked even more so by a bidding war to sign him after college yet had never faced even the slightest bit of adversity in terms of where he fit into a hockey team.

My thoughts about Jimmy Vesey as an NHL’er post leafs tenure was typical masshole who got told he was the best thing to ever put on skates probably his entire hockey life and who’s ego was continuously stroked even more so by a bidding war to sign him after college yet had never faced even the slightest bit of adversity in terms of where he fit into a hockey team who is also a pouty and whiny asshole.

Vesey is the definition of a nothing player.

  7. Best_One9317

This man has a career high of 35 points and he’s 30 years old. It’s actually shocking he’s even in the NHL.

  8. toedragrelease

Am I the only one who does not remember Vesey playing a single game for us???

  9. GiveMeAdviceClowns

Wasn’t his dad part of management staff during that time?

  10. So « mediocre depth player mad he is a mediocre depth player » the article.

  11. When are we trading Nylander for Vesey? Any day now eh Dregs/Kyper?

  12. Turbo_911

Beer league player makes it to the majors and then cries.

My one memory of Jimmy Vesey with the leafs is that he scored 2 goals one time and somebody commented on the game thread « Jimmy Feces with the deuce! »

  14. Fortuitous_Event

Jimmy Vesey has scored 53 points in 196 games since leaving the Leafs. He’s the definition of a plug. Who cares.

  15. Desperate_Law9894

I remember reading before that season started, Vesey said that he was going to go out and play like his hair was on fire.

Too bad no body gave him a match.

I would say, « You’re right, Jimmy. I can’t get much worse than how you played for the Leafs », but to be honest, I can’t remember much about his time here, except that he didn’t stick in the lineup for long.

OK, I just looked at his hockeydb page, and he averages a 30-point pace (29.4, but I’ll round up)…

    …when he’s with the Rangers.

In his time with Buffalo, Toronto, Vancouver, and New Jersey, he’s a 20-point pace guy (20.3).

  17. RudyGiulianisKleenex

Lol buddy really has been riding that Hobey Baker Award attitude for the last 7 years

  18. GritGrinder

I don’t think the leafs blamed him for losing in the first round.

It’s was a pretty forgettable tenure
