Love the analysis! I think the performance in Boston was a massive boost for Shesterkin, who hadn't seemed quite himself since missing some time through injury and a weird schedule. If he has another good night tonight against Toronto, I'm going to feel a whole lot better about him and his prospects for the rest of the season. Yes, Quick's numbers are likely to drop as the season goes on, but Shesterkin's are just as likely to rise, and he's still the undisputed first choice. Curious to see the goal-support breakdown you mentioned.
Interesting thing that I think is skewing some numbers and making the Rangers look worse on paper than they are: the Rangers' wins this year have come by an average of 2.0* goals, while their losses have come by an average of 3.4 goals. They're winning a lot more than they lose; but when they do get beat, they get smoked.

Steve Valiquette was on Vince Mercagliano’s podcast recently and discussed that no recent Cup winner have been outside of Top 5 in High Danger Scoring Chances Against. Hopefully the Rangers continue to lockdown on the Defensive end and transition that into Offense.

I do have concern about the team of making a long run if they don’t have more scoring at Even Strength from the Bottom 6, especially at 3rd Line Center. Chytil is out with a Concussion after having multiple in his career. In addition, the Cap room is tight so they might not be able to trade for someone of significance to fill in there. Bonino is a solid player but not in that role that he has filled in for during Chytil’s absence. I do worry about Lindgren being able to sustain his health throughout the season and playoffs with his style of play which has slipped this year and he is taking more vicious hits on the ice. Overall, great season by the team bouncing back!

I’m a Devils and I love the way Trouba plays. Very similar to Scotty Stevens. Those bone crushing hits are effective and terrify skilled players. I respect it. It’s also becoming a very rare trait amongst players. It’s going to get even rarer since youth hockey is removing hitting. 😅

Looks like Toronto got the same gift they gave the Rangers , so my take is that the Rangers have taken on every top team and they’ve held their own against all of them .. of course the playoffs things change as Boston found out last year .. so I think there will be a team that has been inconsistent so far but will come together and gel at year’s end and I doubt anyone knows what team that is .. could be the devils, canes , lightning , panthers , flyers who are quietly piling up the wins , the caps? Edmonton came alive but now are back to losing but that may be forgotten come April .. Shesterkin has woken back up , he just looks different , less movement more positioning and it’s working so far ..

Yeah but the Rangers only win games where they have more goals than the other team. It counts less.
Trocheck has been great on face-offs also; He takes most of our big face-offs and has a 64% win percentage. Let's also give Chris Drury some credit for putting this team together.

So rangers get 2 videos but kings can’t even get 1? I’m just curious why every hockey channel I follow they never cover the kings. Just because we’re in California doesn’t mean we don’t have good fans or hockey. Hockey has opened a lot more in California and I feel like we deserve more respect as a fanbase and as a team. I will always appreciate your videos Shannon but I always watch in hopes to see someone cover my team just for the respect they deserve but for some reason nobody likes us and never knew why.
