Why don’t other teams score at a historically efficient rate? Are they stupid?!
dudewithchronicpain
So we are ass again?
smokeey
Ducks defense has mostly got it now but at the cost of forgetting how to score. Hopefully when the big 3 come back healthy they can get back on track to figuring that out, but a big part of the entire ducks game is needing to stay out of the box.

I am so confused by Washington this year. The whole team is dragging a brick of the former Ovi and these numbers look bad? How is their ceiling seemingly 3x higher than their current playoff-standing performance!
FrmrPresJamesTaylor
Highest 5v5 xGoals%, you’ll never sing that
dboy120
I for one am shocked that we are number one in shot attempts %

Top and bottom 32 teams.

Nothing quite like your team getting awful results then you look at the stats and they tell you « they’re actually more shit than the results would have you believe »

We are running away with the Corsi Cup this year
SarcasticPhrase
Well yea, these are expected goals. Those are for suckers.
We only score unexpected goals! No one ever sees it coming.
Top_Contract_4910
Crazy to me is how low Washington is on this list and how they’ve still managed to he competitive. They’re record is really really good for a team where Ovi is having arguably the worst season of his career so far.
oddspellingofPhreid
Expected merchants.

I thought we were boring???
RektalTrauma
I hate this year of hockey so far, I’d rather watch professional lawn bowling tbh
Reddititfortat
Why do we even care about “expected” numbers?
It’s like saying I SHOULD have 200k in the bank but because of some bad luck and not being great with money, I only have 25k.
It just seems like one big giant tease.

These graphs continues the trend of someone finding a way to present data that makes every team number 1 at something this season.

I thought DJ Smith said we were a top 12 team though…

Woo rangers are positive in 5v5 xg% this year and everything else is mostly the same as last year
JarvisFunk
I like it better when we had average advanced stats, but were good.
Tuckboi69
Why are the oilers always so good on paper but never put it together in the win loss record?
UncommonHouseSpider
Cool, I guess? But how many pucks were used during each game? I need to know some real numbers here people !!
broquelli
I need an ELI5 for this. What is x in this equation?
Brodieboyy
If only we had a decent powerplay to go with it
AdeptConcentrate542
Hey! #19, not too bad!
Just4nsfwpics
The fact that the Cole/Suzuki/Slaf line is currently 10th best in the league in expected 5v5 goals for (minimum 100 mins played together at 5v5), and we’re still in 5th last begs the question.
Just how fucking bad are the rest of our line combinations???

Seattle and Philly are higher than I anticipated.
St Louis is lower than I anticipated.
