I mean, I know the dudes struggling and its frustrating, but can we just enjoy a win without a downerdeau post?

I legitimately laughed out loud when this happened

His confidence is shot. I’m not surprised to be honest

You can tell the other team knows he’s going to pass. The D isn’t even looking at his shot, his stick is in the passing lane

How the hell is this guy still on the power play? We have to send a message by either yanking him off the PP or having him watch a game with press tickets.

It’s a crazy idea given his age but Huberdeau should take the offseason and try to reinvent himself as a shooter. With how things are going he needs a big shakeup.
He’s able to find the soft spots. If he could make teams legitimately scared of his shot it would open up his passing lanes further. His shot is actually decent when he uses it. I wonder if he could get it to another level.
Won’t happen but why not at this point

I think this scene from Money ball is super relevant
Player X signs a big 8 year deal for 11.04% of the cap after completing a 40 goal 63 point season.
In year 1 of his new he put up 14 goals and 23 points in 59 games.
In year 2 of his deal he put up 7 goals and 14 points in 53 games. He was widely considered the worst contract in the league after this season.
The team team decided to do a partial rebuild that trade deadline and summer and ended up selling off some major roster players. There was no longer any expectation on the team to perform or pressure on the players to compete.
In year 3 of his deal (surrounded by a lot of young blood and new teammates) he put up 33 goals and 63 points in 80 games.
In year 4 of his deal he put up 35 goals and 82 points in 79 games.
That player is Jeff Skinner and since Buffalo decided to sell off the likes of Eichel, Hall, Reinhart, and Risto to build around the kids, he has completely revitalized his game.
