  1. It was a good game all and all, could you imagine if those 3-4 lines keep contributing 1-2 goals? Good job for McLeod!

I want to talk a bit about depth. Can I get a big HECK YEAH for Derek Ryan (100% in the faceoff circle with 7 and 0 plus an assist on Kane's goal), how about McLeod with another goal and assist, or Foegele with a Goal and an Assist, how about Ceci and Ekholm getting assists. This game wasn't as much about the big boys. Hyman had a goal and Connor had 1 secondary assist. Nothing from Leon or Nuge. Kane got a goal but everything else came from depth or D. How about Skinner getting the 1st star of the game even after letting in 2 late ones (one of which was a PP goal (6 on 4) so the PK wasn't perfect). The PP not getting it done on 2 tries hurts but no one can say we don't get 5 on 5 goals or can win that way. Four Goals in 6:45 span in the 3rd period. Quick must have felt shell shocked. There was an interesting byplay in the 2nd period where Zibanejad fired a one timer that knocked Skinner's mask off, Panarin knocked in the rebound but the goal was disallowed. Skinner made a save on Zibanejad during a PP late in the 1st that carried over to the second and apparently Mika skated by me after I made the save to say now wwe're even. When Skinner's mask was knocked off a bunch of guys came over to check on him to make sure he was okay. CLASS people, CLASS. You are competitors but you're also a brotherhood in a way. A timely win. Next up, San Jose on Thursday after Christmas for a 3 game California trip (and we'll see how we do against LA, that will be a test). This is the first back to back of the year for the Oilers and they won both. Take care all.

  3. Whatever Knobs is saying to them in those second intermissions seems to be working. Last two games they scored 4 goals in the 3rd period.

  4. It was a well played game for the most part but as it may, defense caught got off guard in the first but steadied the rest of the way. Offense finally turned up the heat in the third and got results. More steady play is key moving forward.

  5. Great to see the secondary scoring and the team coming together. I'm really liking Knoblauch and how he has managed his players and their roles. Cheers and Merry Christmas.
