That game can be laid at the feet of Skinner……an NHL goalie allowing 4 goals in. Holland also did sweet F.A. to improve this team, this summer…..letting yet again more size and toughness walk out the door…..and dumpster diving and signing rehab projects and washed up players.

I'm now thinking the Oilers can only win a cup with young players. Once they get older and comfortable and overpaid they start sucking. We can get a tonne of young stars for McDavid, Draisatl, RNH, Nurse. I would keep Kane, Hyman and Ekholm.
The team is almost identical to the team that almost beat Vegas last year; this is 100% on Jeff Jackson; I can't imagine Woodcroft being dumb enough to try this defensive system when we don't have the appropriate personnel to execute it. This must have been forced on him from up high. And yes Holland gambled on Campbell and lost that bet (but we were all complaining we needed a goalie and Campbell was all that was available at the time), but this isn't Holland's fault either. Now we have a new coach clearly brought in by Jackson (Holland never would have fired THE WINNINGEST % COACH IN OILERS HISTORY) who says "Sure we can make this D system work", soon Jackson will hire another buddy Gagner to replace Holland.
To fix this mess? Katz has to replace Jackson NOW. He is singlehandedly destroying this team
it is not as bad as the media and fans are making it out to be! There are still three-quarters of the season left. In pro sports, things can swing both ways quickly. Obviously, ownership and management are to blame! You would think they could fix the goaltending and defense of their struggling team. Why have the Oiler's brain trust not exhausted every option available? I'm not just talking about trades and the farm. Mr Holland, have you checked out other hockey leagues around the globe? You would think you could find 2 defenseman gems and a standout goalie in the KHL or the other 50-plus hockey leagues across the globe, What about signing undrafted CHL or US college hockey players, or how about bringing in a recently retired goalie back to the NHL Clearly, there are far too many options that Ken Holland has not exhausted yet. Do something to mediate the problem or step aside for a Competent GM who will! sincerely the province of Alberta.
