Well the Leafs haven’t made the finals since they last won in 1967, and back then they had fewer rounds in the playoffs – so that makes sense. What is actually surprising is that there were 3 rounds back in 1935…

Back in 1935 there were 9 teams, and 3 rounds in the playoffs, with the top team in the division getting a bye in the first round.
In the 6 team league there were only two rounds in the playoffs. So this is more of a historical glitch than a  »Toronto sucks » thing.
Just for the record, Toronto does suck.
