Les quatre mille fans de MTL huaient, non? (the four thousand MTL fans were booing, no?) (To save translating for everyone)

There was DEFINITELY not 4k Habs fans there

I hope they had bad dreams about Nikita Kucherov

The habs have been so dogshit lately that people forget how absolutely insufferable their fan base is.

    Garage team with garbage fans.

These just seem like standard youtube comments to me tbh. They’re whiny, but nothing too egregious for me to call them classless.

At least they are not screaming about firing the defensive coach and trading the bottom six away every time they lose like we do.

Kuch kinda already had the final word on that fanbase didn’t he lol

Wait, you’re telling me the fan base that sent death threats to their first round pick Reinbacher aren’t classy? Who woulda thunk.

I’m a TBL fan from Montreal so it’s even more infuriating here. I never bring up that I am a Lightning fan at work because it always turns into people hating on Kucherov for whatever reason. In my opinion, deep down they’re just mad because Kucherov has owned them since he’s been in the NHL and they haven’t iced a talent like him since Lafleur in the 70’s.

One thing I have noticed whenever the Lightning play vs a Canadian team is that the broadcast rarely talks positively about Kucherov. They’ll briefly glance at his (otherwordly) stats and kind of ignore him after that. But if they can find a shot of Kucherov arguing with a ref, slamming his stick at the bench or doing anything to paint him in a bad light, you can be certain they will show it and talk about it.

For comparison, McDavid is treated differently on Canadian broadcasts. We only ever hear about his accomplishments and his cheap shots and low moments are never brought up.

If the goals were offside, why didn’t the Canadiens try challenging? That seems like a bad video coach, which is their own fault. Also, « lucky bounce » is a funny term for « our goalie failed to make the easiest save with which he possibly could have been tasked ».

Yeah that’s really not that bad at all. Toronto and rangers fans are much worse

And they say Lightening fans don’t know hockey.
Yes the misspelling was on purpose.

Obviously I’m biased so I wouldn’t be able to say with out complete certainty.

But I almost never see our fan base be as toxic as most other fanbases. A lot of lightning fan comments I see get insanely down voted or hated on and I feel like it’s resentment that a Florida based hockey club has had more success in the last 20 years then most have had in the last 50

To be fair, some of them aren’t exactly wrong with what they’re saying. Team showed up for what, 25 minutes? Our stars are just substantially better than anyone they have on their roster. The Habs are one of the few remaining teams that we can still blow the doors off with half assed effort.

  13. Saw them saying to headhunt Kucherov and Amalie is the trashiest building in the league. That and they tried to blame the fans yelling during Kivleniks tribute in the ‘21 final on Lightning fans
