I know we bounce back after a loss pretty well, but I’d like to see us rip off 4-5 in a row. We haven’t done that in a bit.

  2. Tommybrady20

It becomes glaring when you play a team like the canes who hit you in wave after wave that our entire bottom 6 just can’t sustain anything in the offensive zone.

Once we whiffed on our PP opportunities, we just weren’t going to score.

  3. BroccRL

Y’all it’s not a burn the tape game and it’s not the end of the world, it’s one shitty performance from the best team in the league where the other team took advantage of our deficiencies. This loss will end up benefiting the team in the long run, we’ll learn and change from this.

  4. ItsHeadbangerG

Welp, that was a fuckin stinker. I’ve said it before but the Canes are the one team that know how to stick it in and break it off. They clog the neutral zone and it’s like unplugging the controller on this Rangers team. Everyone, Shesty included just shit the bed out there on multiple occasions. Super frustrating affair to behold, but that’s hockey for you. Hope the boys remember this feeling for the rubber match in March.

    See you Thursday.

  5. Eh brush it off. Ran into a hot team desperate for wins. They’ve played pretty mediocre until recently.

  6. Ochocincoondeck

They need to watch this game for the next two days Clockwork Orange style.

The fact that NOBODY made Aho answer for that shit last game is criminal.

  7. silversappho

wasn’t wearing my rangers socks tonight. this one’s on me guys, sorry

  8. gleyberhood25

Why didn’t we set the tone with a fight or big hit at all in the first? We were doomed the second they called the penalty on laffs for incidental contact

  9. Gbeez22

Sam called Kreider “Master of the Tip” and that’s my positive takeaway from this game

Bad Sticks, stationary, no « there », awful third period as what Lav said, during a game that can be described as one word, « ugly » but when take a penalty 30 seconds into the game against a team who’s power play that has been currently buzzing, you can’t do that. Once they scored first that early, it sucked the energy out of the Garden. And the Hurricanes were able to play their defensive style as well as do their aggressive waves of forechecking. Rangers PP was bad, Igor and Schnieds getting stuck in No Man’s Land, (that should have been frozen by Igor), and couldn’t get bodies to the net. The Canes clogged up the neutral zone. and that’s how they play.

Can’t chase the Canes as what Kreids said. Gotta play better on the 5×5. Rangers didn’t have a game plan, the Canes did. Awful game. They checked all of the boxes and the Rangers didn’t. But, the Rangers can definitely beat this team. But the fact that no one went after Aho, is really bad.

Fuck it. Can’t really say that much. Sucks.

But, gotta move forward, and be ready for Thursday. Onto the Blackhawks. Seriously. Onto the Blackhawks

You’re allowed to think he won’t come back because he might not but god this was the exact type of game where I felt Chytil’s absence.

  12. Shoddy_Reserve788

Just all around bad game, start to finish. Onto Chicago.

  13. FrankieFazul

Honestly that game goes totally different if the Refs don’t call that TERRIBLE penalty on Laf in the first two minutes. The Rangers didn’t even look *that* bad up until the 3rd, then they clearly gave up. In fact it felt like the Rangers were outplaying the Canes at 5v5 most of the game until the 3rd..

  14. njerejeje

Team has lost back to back games exactly one time this year. Hopefully that doesn’t change when we play Chicago.

  15. IDontKnowMan27

First game I attended in over 10 years. I sure picked a great game !

  16. dcgirl98

Takeaways: At least Kreids scored a goal. It seemed like we didn’t have an answer to the Canes which is totally ridiculous – we can beat that team. Team looked a bit lethargic and lazy at times so clearly we were primed to help the refs by just existing. Does Shesty make great saves and keep them in it? Yes but there comes a point when you have to say this was not our dialed in Shesty. He made some bad plays with the puck which resulted in goals or turnovers. Was our D trash? Yes. But he looked the least like Igor I’ve seen. And everyone has off days – the team all picked the same off day. Will we bounce back? Of course. To the fellas behind me with the color commentary during the game, it made a lackluster game fun! Ty! Onto Chicago. Let’s comeback strong. LGR!

  17. charliemike101

Holy shit Canes fans are so toxic. Wth is up with them? Enjoying 4 years of success only to start selling $14 tickets again?

  18. FellowYouths

Lindgren-Fox awful results this year, I’ve seen more than enough of that pair.

  19. 8teamparlay

Cuylle was our only good player tn. Everyone needs to settle down though, there are definitely some holes but don’t expect them to be filled until closer to the deadline (or in case chytil and KK come back we get them), but this isn’t the final iteration of the team this year lol. Carolina is a good team and they caught off guard tn. The sky isn’t falling and the hurricanes won’t beat us in a 7 game series. They mostly dominated us in 21-22 regular season as well.

  20. interactivemark

I need to rant a little. I live in NC and don’t hate the Hurricanes for the most part. It’s funny when their fans pretend to have been into hockey for more than 5 minutes, and when they try to talk hockey it’s just so cute. I still like Fast and Skjei and think Brind’Amore is a helluva coach. However, they have a man in their announcing booth who deserves to suffer from debilitating hemorrhoids for the remainder of his existence on Earth. Tripp Tracy (if that is his real name) is one of the biggest homer douches in the entire NHL. And yes, I’m including the Penguin and Bruin announcers in that analysis. Again, I don’t hate the Hurricanes, but anything we can do as a franchise to bring Tripp Tracy closer to eternal misery is a net positive for the universe as a whole. Rant over.

  21. RainandPixels

The teams that press us and pressure us do very well. It’s concerning and that is what will happen come playoff time.

  22. OrphanDad

Second half of that game was tough to watch. Maybe the worst of the season. Bound to happen a few times but man, there’s games where we just don’t get lucky bounces and then there’s games where we are just totally flat. Tonight was the latter.

  23. Yonsnad

    That was a rough watch.

Igor is struggling. This cold streak is a bit relentless now.

  24. obvioussponge06

The game was over the moment Laf got called for existing – and honestly we didn’t play badly at all until the third.

This team can overcome refpuck, and this team can overcome Carolina’s suffocation defense, but it cannot overcome both at the same time – no team can. We caught Carolina getting their knobs slobbed in their most effective playstyle.

Edstrom needs to be in the lineup permanently

  25. MrBigChest

Oh boy am I glad that I went to go see Poor Things with my wife tonight

  26. Fittnylle3000

Well… If theres any time to lose 6-1 to carolina it’s now. Hope they learn from it and move on
