Drafted 22nd overall in the 2019 NHL Draft by the LA Kings, 6 foot 200 pound defenceman, Swedish

Still young, and would be a player that Allvin likes targeting. However, there is no space on the left handed side. Probably won’t even make it to the Canucks considering their waiver position but who thought Eeli Tolvanen would make it to Seattle.

I normally hate these pick up every guy with pedigree suggestions…

… but i’d look hard at this kid.

Even if he does make it passed the other 29 teams, we have no cap space when Soucy comes back.

Would be nice to have as a depth piece, but he’s on waivers, and who on the left side is going to get cut to slot him in today?

During the Benning era, basically anytime a player like this was on waivers… Canucks fans got hot and bothered.

Nowadays.. I just don’t see how you get him on the roster. It’s not like you’re waiving Biega/Hunt to claim this guy.

  6. I doubt he falls that far, and if he does get past everyone, only then would I consider maybe trading for him for future considerations/conditional 7th rounder so we can stash him in the AHL as depth

I think you would have to lean on your professional scouting here. Theres enough numbers to take a peak at him. How he was used would glean a lot about his numbers. But he for sure isn’t coming without warts. Probably pass even if he does slip to us but not likely.

I’m so confident in Gonch, Foote and Tocc to transform people’s defensive game as we’ve seen with Myers and more impressively Juulsen. If he’s still available at 29th (where we’re at) then hell yeah put in a claim.

He’d be like 6th on our left side depth chart so it’s hard to justify. He’d be nice to have in the minors but that’s why he’s on waivers
