Let’s face it without great goaltending we are an average team. Then we have a clueless coach who has no idea what he’s doing. It was obvious after game 4 of last years playoffs and this season it’s even more obvious. He’s screwing Merk, Poitras and Lysell. He has Geeke on the first line and sometimes even Heinen. We have a useless first pp with stone hands Geeke on it and he refuses to change it up. It an effen pp… put your best 5 guys on there you idiot. Been saying it all year, he puts our young, skilled prospects in positions to fail because he puts plumbers on their line. They make 1 mistake and they get benched meanwhile every other player can screw up and they get more ice time. What a fool.
They should have gotten rid of Gryz during the off season. Lohrei impressed the hell out of everyone at the end of last year in Providence. Your left side was stupidly expensive. You needed a high end possession center (still do) and you just sat on him. And if anything now he's been devalued and you still need to move him.
Gryz is going to give this guy a heart attack
Hey Charlie M. we can make an hour long video on dumb plays and bad penalties…I know he makes just as many good ones But it doesn't make the bad ones easier to swallow
I am getting fed up with the line blender and the (to you and I) weird ass placements for some of these rookies and the time management for the team. It's so fucking frustrating.
Anyway close game DESPITE the issues, I hope the next game is better across the board. Yeesh.

As someone who was at the game I have to say two things:
1) Lindholm is tough to watch… what is going on with him he legit looks LOST out there
2) You influenced my decision to get a centennial Poitras jersey.. surprisingly saw a LOT of them at the game!!
Im not confident with the whole defensive core, never mind face offs right now. Seems like they play with sticks that are too long. Basic puck control and handling.
I watched the first period and three minutes of the 2nd. That’s all I needed. I turned it off and said “we’re gonna lose.”

Monty sucks as a coach
NHL is not a development league. I have heard this a lot. I totally disagree with that statement.
I talked with a HD coach who told me the same thing about his HD teams. He said, I dont work on skills as the kids should come with them, i teach my system. Wrong!
At all levels a player should be advancing and learning. Refine and improve.
Definition of coaching is to transport. A coach should be transporting. Player from who they are today to who they should be tomorrow. On and off the ice.
As a level 4 USA Hockey coach, my goal was to improve ALL of my players. All the great players work very hard every day.
Coaching is an issue… remember the pass to the trailing D on the breakout. Lindhilm feasted on that.. OR the D to D pass? The guy is open…
Nope, coaching says to fling a long pass up that is at best a 50/50 pass.
This is a major change. I am a possession coach so its hard to watch us give it up so easily, all the time!!!

The deke on the 2nd Bruins' goal was amazing. Seeing the 2nd Marchand goal I can see why Bs fans love him…and the rest of us don't.
That is a DUB!!!….If Wotherspoon plays. Honestly I don't even care which defenseman he replaces in that game. Yet another easy call that Monty won't make because the pecking order in hockey must always reign supreme.

I have literally nearly no notes for this game because it was pure chaos and plus for the vast majority of the game I was paying attention to Twitter because the ESPN feed was usually 35-60 seconds behind what was happening live on the ice. Just horrible defense the entire game and the offense was either non existent or it was 1980s levels of offense.
I cannot wait for Forbort to return so he can replace Grzelcyk on that 3rd pairing.

Could we not give Merk exclusively 4th line Defensive zone starts….the guy is known to be bad at Faceoffs and his offensive potential is WAAAAAAY higher than his defense. Just feels like we're setting up this guy for failure.

How jealous were we all when Letang cleared Zacha from the net front with about a minute to go 6 on 5? Gryz doesn't have the ability to make that play right now (especially in this game, he was embarrassing), or in the playoffs. And also, Zacha is on pace for like 48 points, not enough for a top 6 winger.
I don’t get it. We beat NJ by playing big boy hockey and disrupting the crafty skill game by finishing hits.
We then play Pittsburgh and have only 10 hits all game.
Don’t play their game. If you don’t want to keep pace with their passing and skill then turn the game into a tough grind.
If Connor Bedard was a Boston Bruins they'd probably play him 4th line as well. I don't understand and I really gave up trying.
Ullmark has twice the experience of Swayman so when facing a crazy seasoned Crosby, Linus should have been in the net in my opinion. Seeing how tight the Pens were on offense and our boys were miles from each other passing away the puck constantly, bummed me out.
Should have got rid of gryz 2 years ago.

I was honestly shocked that Carlo blast didnt reach 100mph. That had to be the hardest registered in-game shot in recent years. I cant blame a goalie for not wanting to get a piece of those
It seems like there’s less and less “backups” anymore. Most teams play the “backups” 30-40 games

Pittsburgh is not even in the playoffs. That’s why it’s alarming to this loss. I get they are getting close, but they have been mediocre all year for the most part. Lindholm doesn’t look like the d man he did last year, Grzelcyk looks horrible, Wotherspoon is better than him, and Lohrei looks like he needs to be sent down to Providence for now. The defense is just a mess. They need to acquire a top four defenseman. On top of all that they still need a center who scores and wins face-offs. The Bruins face-off abilities have just plummeted in the past month. They have looked so horrible at the face-off circle. It’s not even a joke, especially last night.

I believe he has the skill set to be an effective 3rd or 4th line winger.
Grez and lindholm lost me last year in the playoffs tbey got to go at this point
