We already had the worst roster in the NHL before injuries, Macklin Celebrini better start looking for houses in Chicago.
thebradster94x
Damn, hate to see the kid go down like that.
fgiraffe
Ugh that sucks.

I’m afraid (excited) to see how things play out next time CHI plays NJ

sucks big time. the kid had to endure all that your mom jokes for his first year and now this. not even a hawks fan but he was a blast to watch on the ice.
TurnCalmTheVolume
McDavids shoulder. Bedards face. All the Connors gotta learn to keep their head up.
Icefiight
AHL team assemble!!!
alittlespacey
Curious how long that will keep him out. Hope he’s healed enough for the all star game.
uptheirons2974
I knew this kid would get smucked in the first year. Yes he has talent but unfortunately there are some huge guys in the NHL.
wesley-osbourne
Just wait until he comes back with a cage, worked wonders for Marner.
Snoo1101
Jaw sucks but at least it won’t be a difficult recovery in terms of getting back on the ice. He’ll miss a few weeks, get a little rest, come back with a silly looking fishbowl and pick up where he left off as the leading contender for the Calder trophy.
Sucks for folks that dished out big bucks to watch him play for a first time
ShartRat
This is definitely the moment where another generational first overall pick loses the Calder because he happened to be named Connor and get injured
ragingfirebush
Clean hit btw
HonestCletus
They can rebuild him bigger, stronger, chompier.
pretzelogically
Sucks hard but it could have been much worse because Smith definitely held up at the end there.
Otterslayer22
Good thing they tanked
Busch_Leaguer
Gonna book Oliver Bjorkstrand’s airbnb in San Diego while he heals lol
Cherry_Crusher
Crazy the hit didn’t look it it contacted the face or head at all, it was clean to the chest.
EveryTimeIWill18
A fractured jaw is leagues better than a concussion. Concussions are career killers, they get easier to get and worse each time.
SomaticZX6r
First Leo now Connor 😞
RockstarBrandon01
Should’ve played in the world juniors
2shack
Foligno’s out too. Smith is likely going to be a target next time they play.
BBLouis8
Shitty. Same thing happened in McDavid’s rookie year, missed a bunch of time.
BettmansDungeonSlave
Holy shit that hit looked like nothing at all. Must’ve caught him at the exact perfect angle.
petoskey_stone
Dey broke he jaw!

Keep your head up bud
Old_Beyond3256
poor kid. He’ll be back stronger
CheeseheadDave
This sucks, although I guess it’s better than a major concussion at 18 years old.
ExperienceNo7751
I’ll point out his first game against the Penguins, he almost got blown up at the red line early and didn’t try to juke around a check. Can’t skate like power forward when you can’t absorb big impact on perfectly clean checks.
That doesn’t work in this league. He’s 18 and 170lb.
No doubt he comes back stronger. Not a big season for Chicago anyway
Color commentary from NJ followed up by stating that ‘you gotta take our their skilled players. Otherwise they will make you look foolish’. He should have added ‘just make it look clean’.

I’d rather watch Bedard play than Smith.
Connor Bedard on IR? ESPN in shambles.
