He prob goes back with Mika and Kreider. Wheeler is better suited for 3rd/4th line.

Article talks like Othmann is staying up with the Rangers. Likely he’ll be back in Hartford once Kakko is back, and an older guy whose development the Rangers aren’t so concerned about will be called up as the 13th forward.

As for Kakko, maybe give him a game or two to get back into it but realistically, he should be back with Mika and Kreider. Now that Mika is out of his slow start, Kakko’s possession skills will fit in perfectly with the two of them and hopefully increase their 5v5 play, especially since Kakko is better defensively than Wheeler.

He simply has to go back on the top line with Kreider and Zibanejad, even if he’ll likely start slow coming back from injury. Wheeler’s stick is where offense goes to die.

Id like Othmann to get a longer look but I see him as the one being sent down. It comes down to him or Brodzinski, who can get claimed. I like Brodz but if he got waived and claimed to stay in NHL then good for him.

Personally, I think if they were thinking about keeping him up, they would be utilizing his best asset, the one timer on pp.

Blake Wheeler isnt going to the 4th line. They are the shut down line and hes too slow for that role too.

    Kreider – Mika – Kakko /
    Panarin – Trocheck – Lafreinere /
    Othmann – Bonino – Wheeler /
    Cullye – Goodrow – Vesey /

  6. Any placement except next to 20/93 would be a mistake

Kakko is the only one who’s been able to keep 20/93 above water. His individual defensive impacts on that line are absurd

Would be in the NYR best interest to play him with the big dogs on line 1

I think Othmann stays with the team through the west coast trip and then goes back to Hartford, possibly alongside Brodzinski.

Kakko to me rejoins the team but doesn’t get inserted until MAYBE the 2nd game of the B2B on Sunday against the Caps.

What id LIKE to see happen is this.

    10/16/13

    20/93/50

    78/12/24

    26/21/17

I’d love to see Cuyle get a shot to really be that Tom Wilson light he’s been hyped up to be and get a run with skill guys before we get too close to the deadline

I think we should drop wheeler and bring up othmann for full time. Put Kakko back on the first line and let othmann take wheelers minutes

I assume Kakko goes back to line 1, Wheeler back to Line 3 and Othmann goes 4th line.
