As a Habs fan would I trade the 5th overall pick for Gauthier? Absolutely not.

This kid has made quite the name for himself …… what a doucher. Poor Ducks gave up a top tier defender for a cancerous crybaby who'll likely amount to absolutely nothing.

You haven't kept tabs on David Reinbacher, Grav, he got injured after having grown even taller (he's 6"3 if not 6"4) and put up over 15 pounds of muscle on that larger frame. So yeah, sure, growing pains, but his last 3 games in the NL he's been nothing but impressive, his speed is back, his edge-work is fantastic, covers those bigger rinks like nothing, back on Canada/US ice he'll be on the opponent forwards faster than their own shadow.
Glad for the young one. Cutter is way better fit with zegras McTavish and the ducks. I truly wish upon no one to end up playing in mtl where fans live in another reality

On paper it's 5th vs 5th, but we all know the 2022 draft was much weaker than the 2023 one, so time will tell.
Gauthier will be amazing in anaheim. The ducks are building a powerhouse missing a few keys and they have themselves a serious contender team.
This story doesn’t matter from a flyers perspective. We did it cuz we wanted Michkov, we got him regardless
NHL owners should come to an agreement and declare any player ineligible, for life, if that player does not report to the team that drafts him. The NHL draft is not a job fair, it is a procedure designed to promote parity and allow teams to build for their futures through a natural and expected order.

I feel like Americans not wanting to play in Canada is a little bit overblown. Obviously, there is the exceptions of Matthew TKuchuk and Johnny Gaudreau. I feel the argument is a little bit outdated because if the team has the money and has the team to win, the player is going to sign there. PS Caulfield is American and he signed an eight year deal with Montreal.
Wonder why Mike Grier didnt land him. Grier claimes to the the be all end of Boston players. Afterall, thats why the bozo took Will Smith over Michkov… With all the draft picks SJ complied, they couldve put together a nice package… Oh wait, Grier has straight up said he perfers quantity over quality.

Cutter won't be that great though, he's doing ok in College yes, ok is a bit more points then games in a easy league. Cutter seems to have head problems, for such a young player he's making bad decisions.
Playing Philly or Montreal is not for the faint of heart. You need to be mentally tough, which is not the case for other teams
Montreal hates bratts. And gauthier asking for a trade before proving anything, we don't want that player.
Kent Hughes has been a great gm since he replaced Bergevin it was a smart and great move the chariot deal was amazing for example bringing in a 1st for him which was then flipped for Newhook. Smart man

Smart for Montreal, way too much risk. Cutter may not want to play in Canada, attitude problem could affect what they’re building. And too early to give up on Reinbacher, there’s a reason so many teams wanted to draft him at 5.
I would not touch that kid with a ten foot pole. He most likely will go on to have a fantastic career, he also might be a problem for every team he is on. Not worth risking a franchise on, Anaheim on the other hand is desperate.
