Rangers don't need a defenseman, they need to play defense. Lately all defenseman and forward on the Rangers have been standing around, instead of back checking.
Rangers need a defensive winger and a winger who can score
The issue is that they do way too much puck watching. It's not enough to get back on defense – guys need to communicate, keep their head on a swivel, and mark attackers as they enter the zone. The Canucks game was a prime example of their incompetence simply gifting a strong offensive team two quick goals. They have the personnel, and adding a two-way forward and a sniper would probably be a good idea. But it won't matter if they can't get back to what they were doing early in the season. Active sticks, awareness, and communication!

Rangers should do everything in their power to get Hanifin ideally hanafin Lindholm package would be a pretty massive deal but I think rangers have pieces to get it done and I don’t really think chytil will be back this year
I never seen a team play with the puck at both blues lines. In the o zone they play with the puck at the blue line turn it over team goes the other way.. they play with the puck at the d zone blue line cant get the puck out turn it over go in and score. Get the puck out of the zone
Rangers are exactly where I would have predicted at the start of the season, so all is not lost. I figured they would be better than last year, but never really thought they would ever have the best record in the NHL. 5th place in the league currently. Kind of seems like they just got hot at the beginning of the season and then settled into where they should have been all along. The good part is we know they are capable of beating any team in the league when they're hot. Hopefully they can hit another hot streak come playoff time.
I would definitely trade Lindgren. I love Lindgren, but he has been pretty inconsistent and its his last year on his contract.
