  1. Just like Domi, another player that has wanted to join the Leafs in the past. Assuming he’s fine taking 1M, I think it’s a no brainer. Had 9 points in 16 games with Chicago.

  2. TurdFerguson06

Yup. Results is all that matters here.

  3. Hockyinc

    Yes.
Unless it’s been fully established that he did something illegal or morally reprehensible?
    Yes all day long.

  4. No Ty. Not the player this team needs. Not in this market, with no details of what went down. It will just be a media circus and huge distraction.

If the team does an actual check into what happened and it’s closer to the “he got drunk and acted like an idiot” rumours where there were no real victims outside of people being embarrassed, vs. anything truly nefarious, then I’d be open to bringing him in at the minimum. He would be able to bring more value than McMann as someone who can bring some actual bite to the lineup, some secondary scoring and a net front presence. Worst case scenario you lose McMann on waivers, Perry sucks, and you bring up Steeves and are likely no worse than we are today.

Perry would be an actual difference maker on the 4th line.

Did we ever find out what he actually did? Just “inappropriate behaviour” with a staff member at a team function? Is that the most we know? I feel like details matter here… don’t want to be the organization that condones racism/sexism/general assholery…

Hate him, but I also hated Domi before he was a leaf.

I despise him, but my emotions shouldn’t be involved in this decision anyways. If I ignored my dislike for him, I’d consider signing him. If he didn’t do anything illegal/morally fucked up, sign him. If he did, let some other team sign him.

Regardless of what you think about him, he’ll be a massive upgrade for the 3rd or 4th line.

  9. Big_Albatross_3050

Headcase aside, he’d be a good fit on the 4th line as both an agitator and a scorer.

Plus he’d be pretty cheap and is a classic Treliving type of guy

  10. Bring him in to bang Marners dad before that contract negotiation

  11. krazykanuck

If you hated to play against him, you’ll love him on your team. It’s a fact.

  12. Significant_News_638

he is still exceptionally strong defensively, and his 5v5 xGF numbers are very strong. One of this teams holes is our fourth line is not good enough defensively on wing to justify the extremely sheltered offensive usage of the 3rd line. He’s actually what they need on the fourth line with the added benefit of him being a shit disturber.

I’m not sure about the off ice but if management is comfortable with whatever it was and his response to it, him coming home makes sense.

If the Leafs look into what happened with Perry and it wasn’t that bad and he signs for a decent amount, I say sign this man.

  14. HousingThrowAway1092

As much as I hate it, Perry is signing with the Panthers.

Florida having no state income tax means that he would recoup almost all of the remaining salary that he lost when he was fired. He also plays the same rat fuck Panthers style that is both very good at hockey but also consistently crosses the line from hard-nosed to objectively dirty. It’s the same style that makes teams amazing in the playoffs when the refs pretend that penalties don’t exist.

  15. publicservantboi

If we don’t sign him, you just know he’ll destroy us in the playoffs again…so please just sign the man!

  16. StickBat101

While I wouldn’t wish an injury on anyone, Reaves going down really opened the door to what a fourth line should be. Saying that, if the leafs played the Panthers in the playoffs it might be nice having both Reaves and Perry ready to go if the games get out of control. The other lines would be playing heavy minutes though…

  17. Unlikely_Cookie9805

Nobody should sign him. He should be made to stand in front of the press and describe what he did and why the NHL thinks he is fine to sign a contract again. What has happened between Nov 30 and now?

They just want everyone to forget. Ridiculous

  18. DontToewsM3Bro

    The Leafs should sign him

The Leafs need some real leaders and some nasty rat to them

  19. AnonFromTheNorth

You 100% sign him to fit on our 4th line if the opportunity arises. You’d be stupid not to.
