@Penguins de Pittsburgh

1. I know people love to point out Letang’s mishaps but he’s been absolutely formidable this season. Maximum nasty 10/10.

  2. Canucks troll here, looking forward to seeing the Pens tomorrow. Canucks roll 4 lines, watch our 3rd line Garland/Bleuger/Joshua real dynamic. Oh and thanks (sorta) for DeSmith he's been real solid as a backup. Must be the Rutherford affect (and a hell of a Coaching Staff Tocch Foote Gonchar Mike Yeo Sedins) fun times. Lafferty Bleuger DeSmith Cole there a Pens connection here. Good luck.

  3. How is the Karlsson Letang duo working out? Or is that just on the PP. Rumour has it Guentzel might be linked to Canucks for Kuzmenko and a first. He hasn't panned out for us after scoring 39 last year 5 healthy scratches of late.

  4. Crazy how one of canucks best player kuzmenko from last season haven’t done anything yet.. imagine if he start playing average..

  5. Luv your guys coverage on the Canucks. You guys know your stuff! Good luck to the Penguins on Thursday. Go Canucks!

  6. Oh boy, this podcast shows how much eastern people know what is going on in the west. Who the hell is Illya Petterson?

  7. The Penguins have a storied franchise that plays a fun style of hockey. The playoffs will be better if the Penguins get in. Also who knows how many seasons Crosby has left. I don't get a chance to see the Penguins play much in the regular season so I want to see them in the playoffs. I hear they're playing well now going 9-3-1 over the last while. They're playing a Canucks team that is on a big roll but also on the 5th game of an Eastern road trip. So they're going to be tired. Penguins are the toughest remaining game on the trip but I think if the Canucks get through you they'll probably sweep the last two games of the trip so I'm pumped for this one. Best of luck to the Penguins in every game but tonight.

  8. It’s interesting listening to honest and educated praise about the Canucks from people who follow another team. Here in Vancouver people are still legitimately afraid to enjoy this. Seriously, It’s like a form of PTSD at this point.

  9. Canuck fan here. Last year's Canucks would definitely stumble against the Pens in the middle of a long trip like this. This Canucks team right now is different, it just does not put up stinkers very often. They are way more disciplined. I expect a close one that could go either way. 4-3 Pens in OT.

  10. As a Canucks fan for 20 or so years, if you had told me at the beginning of the season they'd be 2nd in the league with a ridiculous goal differential at the halfway point of the season and other teams would be viewing them as a measuring stick team I would've called you an insane person, but here we are.

I still don't think their defensive depth is good enough to be a true contender for the cup tbh – if Hughes or Hronek gets injured I have fear – but it's fun as hell to watch.

Go Pens Go — Except against the Canucks 😉

  11. Look forward to this game. Crosby Malkin two of my favorite players alwsys seem up for us. Canucks not burning the candle and have cut back ice time to top players last 20 mins. Alot of their 5 andv6 goal games the scoring was done in the first 40. They are disciplined, they play cautious especially when the other team pulls the goalie.

  12. Canucks’ top line is nicknamed the ‘Lotto’ line after the BC lottery named 649 (boeser 6) (petey 40) (miller 9). Originally petey was the C now it’s miller. Them being reunited has been so fun to watch! It’ll be a treat seeing them go up against guentzel, Crosby and Rakell.

  13. I do agree that Jarry absolutely should start against Vancouver. He's the "#1"……. so show us then. Ned doesn't have the pressure on him as Jarry does nor the salary. Let's hope for the best tonight.

  14. As much as I love my penguins, I have a feeling they’re going to get rolled tonight. The third line for the Canucks is unbelievable. When the Canucks get a power play, watch all they snap that puck around hard crisp, clean passes. they’re very creative at setting up plays on the PowerPlay. Penguins better hope that the Canucks are a little tired & have a bit of an off night, but i don’t think they will. I watch a lot of Canucks games because they’ve been my second favorite team for many years. I will say that I think the team that might be playing the best all around hockey are the Winnipeg Jets right now.

  15. This is the measuring cup Sidney Crosby must bake with in order to gage his destination of destiny. It is going to a good tilt, I still believe the Pens will need an upgrade or two to be legitimate. Good luck P town the 4th cup is found on the blades you taped. 🏁

  16. eh. i don't agree with the JT miller last season take.. he was not done or mailed it in.. if u had watched enough games he was playing ok… that did not look like "mailed it in".. also theres a difference between "mailing it in" and "lost his touch".. if you said.. it looks like he lost his touch with aging.. sure i'd stay far far away..

  17. Sorry (not sorry) Pittsburgh, your stars are 10 years older than our stars and are on their way out.

  18. Speaking as a Canucks fan, any team with Sidney Crosby on it, even at his age, has a chance. They're not a Cup calibre team anymore, but they're still good enough to beat the Canucks, even this Canucks team, on any given night.

  19. Hunter referenced Demko's performance in the Vegas playoff series, so I just thought I'd mention that in canucks fan circles we coined the term "bubble Demko" to describe that level of play. It was truly insane.
