Super exciting team to watch if you were originally watching grass grow.

Amazing we’ve managed to be .500 with those stats

Yup. And we keep on focusing at the .500 as a threshold of a good team. I’m curious at how the 3-2-1 points system in the PWHL will impact the NHL.

That’s kinda crazy when you look at the standings too. MTL is by far the best rebuild team, we’re just coasting this season.
2-3 years, even next season we’re gonna be a problem for everyone. Stats like these at this point and still pulling upsets and remaining .500 ahaha you just can’t kill the habs

How the fuck we only have 8 regulation wins
JamJam130
25th and we’re slightly over performing
Minnesota and Buffalo should pass us by season’s end, so hopefully we pick no higher than 7th
The question is can the Flames and Ottawa (lol) finish ahead of us? Pushing us up to 5th OA
Electrical_Sky8714
Regardless of the stats we’re a 500 team without arguably our top line center in Dach and another key piece in Newhook as well as all the other injuries to guys that we’ve had to deal with!
flyingturkey_89
We really need to fix our biggest problem, the PK and 6 v 5. We can’t be in the top 5 in penalties taken AND also bottom 5 in pk
Pazzaaaaaa
Before the season, I was thinking we could maybe fight for a playoff spot next year but not so much anymore. Without our goalies, we are fighting for last place.
But to be fair, it’s been another bad injury season. So hard to judge the team with all these injuries.
PaulWesterberg84
I mean we lost Dach, Newhook, Dvorak, Savard, RHP for all or significant portions of the season and our d corps is filled with children.

7 points ahead of LY tho.

Lot of blown 3rd period leads… although some comebacks in there too
Olipod2002
Doesn’t matter how, it’s how many wins! And we have 17 of them
CakeYaSan
Yet most games feel close and competitive, at least the ones I watch. Even their stinkers get to OT somehow. If they can stay *healthy* and get a bit more run support, maybe things aren’t so bad. Big thing is the health, though, it just sets the rebuild back. Every year lost due to injury adds more Days on Earth stats for our core guys, gotta strike in their prime.
SellingMakesNoSense
We keep games close despite not having the same strength as our opponents, thats great. The rebuild is still young but our team seems motivated.
Acceptable_Major4350
I think we’re top in the league in goals by d-men, which I think is a solid foundation for the future when we add more skill and get back Dach, Newbook, and Pinard.
That’s a loss of at least 20-30 goals in the first 40 games, not to mention PK effectiveness.

Dach and Newhook were the C and the wing on our 2nd line, we lost them both. We have those 2, plus more than likely Hutson, and whatever reclamation project Hughes picks up in the off-seaon AND ANOTHER top 6-8 draft pick to go with Mailoux, Beck, Roy and Reinbacher in the minors, gang we are laughing! We just need health.

Team in rebuild + injuries is bad. This and other great stories at 6.
zzzzoooo
Our .500 record is deceiving. We should rather read 8-17.
lyme6483
This is some truly abysmal stuff. A decently big steep needs to be made next year. Extremely lucky to be .500 right now.
Emer1929
This is exactly what to be expected this year and wether people like it or not next year as well.
