Time for Chabot got to go
I refuse to believe that this group was overhyped. They were one of the best teams from January onward last season. They had a top 5, as high as 2nd best power play in the league and a top ten penalty kill for prolonged periods. They simply have been hand held for way too long.
The mention of a coaching bump providing an almost automatic win is a great example. For every team in the league they would’ve, but I think the Sens have had the country club experience I truly believe that the attitude was “hey whatever it’s the new guy”. And I get now they’re trying but what else can you say? These stars do not look like themselves. And they have played at their top game before, it wasn’t just luck. It’s about getting them back there

With Jacques and AlFredo behind the bench the Sens are 3 and 7. Over the last 5 games the top 5 sv9rersczre collectively -28. What is it for the full 10 games with the coaching change? The players aren't playing the same! Why does AlFredo doing behind the bench. Hiring Martin and AlFredo was a lazy and silly move. The D is porous, there are players on the Team who are not NHLers and the goaltending is awful. IF tyhy want go get better, tye GM has to do his job and jake a GOOD trade. Move Tarasenko, Chabot…but keep Norris, Pinto and the young skilled kids. Draft better…how is Tyler Boucher doing? I love the Team but it's time to get a great coach and let him select his assistants. Martin and especialy Alfredo was Staios pandering to the Fanbase. The Sens need some beef on the back end who will punish and decent goaltending.,
If they can’t move Norris, he should shift to LW with Pinto and Batherson or Giroux. 7/18/28, 9/57/19, 21/71/?, 27/12/?(17). 18 plays better with 7 on his wing. 57 is a right shot center and defensive minded and could work well with 9, who is a sniper, on his left side.
I agree with meth about the defence. Glad you see the same thing I do with Chabot. I been saying this about Chabot for the last two seasons.

Norris looks like an absolute plug this year. A guy who is scared to go into the corners or take a hit can't be a #2 center along Timmy

I think getting rid of Norris would be a huge mistake. I think it's a case where even though he's playing, he's still trying to regain his form after the shoulder stuff, and once he does, that contracts going to look like a steal, and the one two punch of him and Stu centering the top lines will be formidable like we all hoped it would this year.
I am a fan who wants them to do it the correct way at this point. Bench Stuzle. DEMOTE BRADY TO AN ASSISTANT AND MAKE CLAUDE THE CAPTAIN. Time to send a message. Nobody, and I mean nobody should be safe, but wait for the trade deadline or summer. AND FOR GODS SAKE DONT LET THE PLAYERS DO THE MARKETING NEXT YEAR. IF I HAVE ANY OF THEM, TELL ME NEXT AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER HOW GOOD THEY THINK THEY ARE, I SWEAR I AM DONE. Stop forcing the so called leaders to serve the Koolaid. Its time for the players to start holding each other accountable!
Chabot will be making 10 mil next year for the next three years and I don't see teams paying him more than 3-4 mil. Another monumental Dorion screwup. Screwed 3-4 mils either he stays or leaves.
Suggestion: Please put the items from the On Today's Show section in the actual order that they will be discussed going forward. It's not a huge deal but it is annoying.
The hard reality may be that the players we thought were great are maybe not that great from Braddy, Stuz down the line. Braddy and Stuz are great players, actually very great players but no where near being star players like many label them to be. I would be ok moving one of them of course depending on what we get in return. That would certainly shake things up and maybe for the better. Right now Braddy and Stuz are probably still mad about DJ not working out and its rubbing off on the others since they are the two young leaders.

I’d like to see them bring in Phil Kessel. He’s not playing but he is still working out and practicing. He would probably take $1M to sign.

Chabot has to go, I've been saying this for a couple years now and he's only gotten worse… Chabot has gotten so slow mentally. His plays are so predictable, I don't think he ever learned to make a no look pass. Sure he has good skating but when he does skate up the ice, it feels like there's no intention, he dumps the puck and leaves and the opponent now has the puck while Chabot is no longer back defending… No idea why he's on the PP1 when he takes that extra seconds for all passes

Could it be that these Gen Z kids we have on this team simply can't handle an old school, tough love, business like approach that Jacque Martin is bringing?
Seems to me like the players are legit depressed. As if they're too immature to simply look in the mirror, be a man and go to work. Maybe DJ actually did get the most out of this particular group. Maybe we were all fooled. Maybe we need more serious changes than we had thought before the DJ firing. Maybe this team is just full of 2024 style kids.

Unless Martin or Alfredsson are the Head Coach, or Staios doesn't like the player, nothing will probably happen. Once a new HC is hired and then we will find out who he will want/need. I hope the core group is retained and that Chychyrun, Braanstrom, and Giroux are all extended. This is a group designed to have all lines be rolled over.
