How reputable/trustworthy is this guy?

4th line, playoff presence being paid minimum? Let him and Mcmann or whoever split reps during reg season. Keep him fresh for playoffs.
Not touching him until we know exactly what the hell happened in Chicago. Last thing the team needs is to sign him then have it come out the next day that he kicked a baby or thought the Cats movie was a masterpiece or some other heinous crime.
Perry wanted to sign with the Leafs years ago and the Leafs said no and he signed with Montreal. He’s one of those players you hate to play against but like having on your team. Could help in the playoffs for sure.
Well, this would all but guarantee we make it to the finals. Now, what happens there may not be what we want but his track record is pretty clear

I would 100% welcome this. The leafs will do their DD on what happened with him and if it all comes back okay they’ll probably offer him something. Definitely someone you want on your team come playoffs
I am not surprised there was rumours before he signed with Tampa he was willing to come to Toronto too.
If everything is cleared with his issues he is an incredibly effective player granted he probably ends up picking up la retroactive 5 min major the second he steps on the ice for us because he is now a leaf
It would be interesting to see how the players felt. Here’s my « Joe from the bridge » rumor I heard. There are certain players in the leafs locker room / LTIR that feel what Perry did to Tavares was on purpose and still hold a grudge.
Now I personally dont think it was on purpose, just something I heard from someone who knows one of the players on a more personal level than most of us.

He is exactly what we need and folks are out to lunch if they think otherwise. Adds more grit up front for free and can still play. McMann and Perry as wingers on a 4th line with Reaves as the extra gives us a ton of grit there.
We need to be prepared to play the Panthers in round 1 who will goon it up on us. We need rats.
If we won the cup with Perry I would be super happy until I saw him lift it and realization set in.
I don’t mind a lot of his silly shenanigans. Stealing sticks, poking fun, watering guys gloves. But he does a lot of dirty shit that I can’t stand.
Would be great on 3 or 4th line. Pretty much as skilled as Robertson but heavier and more physical. Won’t get knocked off the puck every time he is touched.

Oh man. This could turn south in a big hurry. As fans, we all know that refs will not allow Perry to get away with the cowardly acts he performs on a nightly basis, in Toronto. It’s not going to happen. The moment he puts his stick anywhere near an opposition player, he is going to get nailed with cross checking or high sticking. The minute he puts the toe of his skate in the oppositions crease, it’s going to be goalie interference. We can all count on these things happening. So please. Be forewarned.

I really don’t give a shit what he did. If it was so bad then Bettman wouldn’t be allowing him back in such short time. Seems obviously a case of the Blackhawks having a really short leash as a result of their history so they weren’t going to take any chances with it leaking and people thinking they should have done something else.

Corey Perry had 12 5v5 points in 81 games in 2022 and got signed so the Hawks could make the cap floor. The dude is so painfully slow he’ll completely change whatever line he goes on – he could slog with Maroon or stick his butt in front of the net on Tampa’s PP but the Leafs don’t have a grind line and he’d get fuck all time on the PP here.
He’s 38 and pretty much cooked. Ain’t one player in the current lineup I’d swap out for him.
Perry won’t be able to do what he does as a Leaf. Bunts would have been younger and better. We just can’t have that type of player on the team given the team’s exposure.
He’ll definitely add more ‘piss and snot’. Imagine him and Domi on that 3rd line will piss off a lot off teams lol – I like it. Can’t believe when he was last interested we instead signed Joe Thornton over him.
corey perry is exactly the kind of player the leafs should be looking to add. still a solid 2-way player with some snot. would fit perfectly in the bottom six and hopefully for cheap. I would still want to know exactly what he did to get his contract terminated before I can feel good about cheering for him.
